Right now there is absolutely no reason to use Chrome OS, it's basically a web browser. Even worse, you have to buy specific google ok'd hardware for it.

Your wrong. It's supposed to be a small fast os that is used only for browsing and communicating with friends. It's not made to compete with mature OS's. The idea is simple, it will boot fast, to allow to quickly check your mail or browse for something instead of booting into your main os which takes a while. It will give you the option to boot into your main os too.

i have tried this os, i know its just in pre alpha but it just sucks as bad as their browser(srware iron is the better alternative to the browser), i mean they are just gonna go on stealing your data and so on.

Chrome OS is stupid. If someone is dumb enough to use a computer just for internet, they're not going to know about chrome OS, and if they do, they wont know how to install it.

Designed for netbooks. So maybe some netbook manufacturers will make it the default OS.

hey I downloaded ubuntu, so my question is if I can Install it on a disk partition without burning a cd ?

you can install using a flash drive but to make a ubuntu startup disk you need a live CD hence BURN the CD
