i served him drinks at my bar for three hours last monday after my shift i went to a local restaraunt where he happened to be he bought me several rounds and i sat with jack and tom hanks and billy crystal the most amazing night of my life
Jack doesn't like talking in public, i'm a fanatic of his! And a lil factoid, he is claustrophobic too. i read that baout him, it was an interview. The speech was good, that he made. It was drwan out, he rambled a bit. just due too nervousness. Watch his body language! voice quivers, hand in pocket, can't stand in one place, cleared his voice. nervousness. all from being the greatest actor of all time, everybody knows this about him. sooner or later that would get too a person. jack is the man!
I'm a Jack fanatic! have been since i was little, LOL. Yes, jack doesn't like speaking in public. I really feel he wanted to do this speech though. But as well, he was very nervous, his hands in his pocket, he can't stand in one place, his voice quivers. And if you notice in all of his movies? He clears his voice. Jack, is a private man. in all reality the speech was good, but it was drawn out too much, because i think he was "scatter-brained" just due too nervousness it's like he rambled a bit
Dennis Hopper looked a bit rough didn't he? Got to love how blatantly nervous Big Jack is though! Imagine that - the man who played the Joker and Jimmy Hoffa having butterflies!
Loveamericanstyle...Jack is not nervous. Do you really think that with all the acting he's done over many many years, that he's nervous about an audience?? I think not.
Well, film acting is not the same thing as being comfortable in front of a large group of people and speaking extemporaneously. I mean, watch Harrison Ford go out there and do talk shows. He shakes and mumbles and seems to hate it. Nicholson doesn't do talk shows, of course, but I've seen him present at the Oscars, and do this, and a few other small things, and he has never struck me as one of these Tom Hanks-types who can go out there and be comfortable.

Its not all nervousness, its a lot of emotions, joy or whatever.
Also being real and being present in the moment implies humility instead of vanity. Its only natural.

Yeah, we gave this dude an award. And we were expecting him to walk right the fuck off stage without saying a word.. That makes perfect sense right

He is very nervous in front of a live audience and he has made no bones about it in interviews.
