Such a soulful song. For me the song is about broken promises and a breach of trust. Also having that bittersweet feeling after a relationship.

This is one of my favourite Crow songs as well. Hate to rain on your parade, though, but the chord transitions are a bit off. I'll play it when I get the chance to record in the next while. The progression from G ("...and I know her world...") is to a Bm, not a D. You can hear the minor there. Also, in the chorus, it's G/Bm/C#A ... at least that's what I'm hearing. Thanks for posting.

good stuff, sir. that is one of my favorite Sheryl Crow songs. dark, angsty, very nicely capturing the conflicting feelings you get when someone you thought you knew and loved sticks it to you when you don't see it coming.
