it's literally about mercury being in retrograde. Supposedly mercury is rotating backwards 3 days a year , but its just an illusion. This however apparently can play tricks on the mind and make people feel different. Like not being able to say what you feel , this is presented in the song 'when i saw you last night i wanted to say run away with me ... but all i could say was hey ....'

When i first heard there was nothing like it...it was HORRIBLE. But after being open-minded and listening to it, it became really catchy. The only problem i have with this song is that it doesnt have the feel the previous Bloc Party songs had. Both Silent Alarm and Weekend in the city were great, but i have bad feelings about this new album. Still, Bloc Party is awesome.

I was in the same boat as you. When I first heard it, I hated it. I was scared the rest of the album wouldn't be very good. After listening to it a good few times though, it grew on me. Same with Ares. As for the rest of the songs, it was love at first listen.

I've been a religious fan of Bloc Party since I heard Banquet back in 2005. The direction they're going makes me think I'm not going to be a fan much longer. It's sad knowing your favorite band is going in a direction you just don't enjoy at all.

I don't care what people have to say, I like the sound of this song. It's fast, it sounds harder than their usual stuff and when they get into a fast, more indi/punk/techno light, it just works for them.

Don't get me wrong, their softer tracks (Such as ISR) are amazing, but their faster tracks are what pull me in. ESPECIALLY if it starts on the light side, then kicks into gear like Uniform does. It just works. Bloc Party is a GREAT band, with something for everyone to enjoy. Personally, I love.

I see what some people mean by blown away or horrified. I am neither, I am in the middle. Bloc Party takes themselves too seriously. Here, they let everything fly to see what happens. This is one of their best tunes to me. To all of you saying Helicopter is their best song, maybe you should actually listen to AWITC or any of their B-Sides. What also helps in this song is Kele's voice doesn't get annoying like the lead singer for Coldplay in their new album. I don't care if you don't agree
