alot of people have it right with the pattern and shape of the magnets aswell as the degrees in which to place them. what they dont have is a gear system for the stationary magnet so that it may reverse N and S pole as the disc, which the stationary angled magnets are placed on, rotates so does the gears that turn the stationary magnet reversing polarity according to the angle of the stationary magnets on the disc

@iLoveEatingPie any who since i dont have a camera i will explain what i witnessed.. a box with a shaft / pulley gears attached to a rotating top the N/S pole were parallel on this magnet were 2 more magnets held in place by the first magnet when this rotated the N/S would alternate and reverse there was another magnet on top of this magnet that would move up and down(by gears) as the shaft turned so the fields would come into contact at the right time .. it was timed kinda like a clock

You have the right idea my friend, but if I may make a suggestion. You need to have 2 separate rings with more magnets spaced in alignment to each other with little magnets in between. I made one myself and it is possible and it DOES work. The only one problem I have run into was the cancellation effect of the magnets, being so relatively close to one another they seem to be lessening each others magnetic push, so to say. I have some materials that I am working on obtaining, to prevent this.

A magnetic field is not a linear force it is toroidal in shape. It is also not static it will change it's shape reacting to the presence of another magnetic field. When two opposing magnetic fields are forced against eachother each compresses the other this compression strenthens the force with which they repell eachother. A magnetic field is evenly distributed around a magnet the tilt means nothing.

Look. If the field between the moving parts is uniform there is no reason for anything to move. So it won't. If the field has fluctuations up and down the moving parts will settle in a down. That's it.

And just to point out the obvious, the field can't have a gradient that is always in the same direction because ITS IN A CIRCLE! That would be like having a circular path that always goes down.

I had a similar idea. The problem one would face with this kind of motor is that the energy required to cross the field of a magnet is greater then the energy exerted by that same repelling effect. Simply put the magnets in the inner circle would become stuck between the fields of the magnets of the outer ring.That having been said, what if you could switch the poles of the magnets on the outer ring while the inner magnets were in between the magnetic fields of the outer magnets?

Unfortunately, the soonest is that this model will not work. "Red-red" interaction will make center ring rotate clockwise and every ring will stick when, for example one red pole is caught between two other red poles of the middle ring

The force required to bring two magnets into a position to repel is the same as the force than is produced when the repel - therefore no net gain. No rotation.

I am aware of that but if this really does work and what you say is true (law of conservation of energy), we are already tapping into the energy source present in every magnet and like gravity who knows when it will run out (I know... Some things don't have to be tried to know they don't work. A decent understanding of the law of conservation of energy tells me these can't work.

Go & find a working version. See it for yourself. I'll bet you won't find one. Better still make one then get back to me with your apology.

These systems can't work. Any magnetic field, whatever its shape, is conservative. Meaning, whatever path you take between two points, the total energy used/gained is the same. If those points are the same place, then that energy is zero.

The basic flaw is that when a repelled magnet is half way to the next one, it is also repelled by the one it is supposed to be going to. Shielding magnets just shifts the mid point a bit but you can't overcome the repulsion from both at the same time.

The repulsion from the poles would prevent the device reaching the next pole after the device had slowed down. The device would stop half way between the poles. In other words, it would make little difference if you angle the magnets or point them straight out. You still have the same hill, dip potential gradient as a magnetic field is conservative.

From my understanding, shielding doesn't actually block any of the magnetic field; it just redirects it in other directions, so the same problems stay.

By the way the SEG demands specially conditioned magnets, AC/DC cross-magnetization, a trick of Searl. We can't do that with normal magnets. Roschin and Godin replicated Searl with neo inserts and had success. Rotating rings like this run into a stall.
