  • hey man, did you rent this? if so did you need a credit card or did you pay in cash, because i'm 16 and i don't have a credit card and i really need to clean my car with this machine's upholstery tool.

  • man we have to hire for about £20 in the uk (that's like £37 dollars isn't it???)

Just about to see if our works...

  • Haha your carpet was pretty much clean to begin with! Mine is a LOT dirtier, with deep juice and food stains because we have a household of four children from age 1 to age 7. I'm wondering if this will even work for me, because a lot of these YouTube videos have people with carpets that really aren't that bad. Makes me feel kind of embarrassed, lol.

  • @SalientK I kno right! I keep watching these videos and looking at my carpet. It was stained up i think a little bit from pets before i moved in. And now its worse with food and pop, and cigeratte ash that got rubbed in. And lots and lots of spots..

  • @SalientK I agree, have you tried it yet? Did it work on the stains? If so let me know please!

  • @WeNeedJesus86 Sadly I never tried it, we've just been doing our best with our usual scrubs and stuff. :(

  • you can only use the rug docter cleaning stuff thats what morrisons told me lol

  • its good and does the job but your arms hurt after ouch not for woman

  • I like my Hoover Steamvac better

  • They use them at my work there terrible

  • These are well made and because the motor is close to the extraction tank and floor nozzle there is pretty good water pick-up. It's always best to pre-spray the floor first. Do this by filling clean water tank and cruise around the floor while spraying. Invest in a carpet rake ( $13 at hescoincDOTcom). Get quality cleaners. ie. Emulsifier/cleaners and Rinses are great for removing browning caused by old detergent cleaners. Rug Dr. stuff is too tame for many jobs. Spraying and sucking is a waste

  • I'll add my .02 here.....I recently rented the rug doctor the same day my next door neighbor hired a professional with a truck mounted hose. At the end of the day, I had a sore back, but our carpets were actually cleaner than the professional job my neighbor had paid for. Buy the spot remover and use the cleaning solution exactly as directed. Also, I boiled the water on my stove instead of using regular hot tap water. This machine gets 5 glowing stars .... highly recommended.

  • @TBaker1964 Does it remove juice stains?

  • At 1:27, look closely, the rear vacuum hose isn't connected for carpet cleaning! Try to remember next time!

  • It does not compete with with a pro. But for a do it yourself keep it clean before the pro when you move out. It works. Go slow.

  • You dont need a cup cleaner no way i use two cap fulls thats it

  • My landlord won't let us use this because she says it causes mildew. Is that true? I want to rent one so badly!

  • Well i have not had any problems with any mildew after using the machine.

  • @rattielover87 No it wont shes a retard do what you want. Your paying for the place so if your up to cleaning it you do it

  • @rattielover87 Most people don't use it right, I don't have a lot of ventilation in my apt, you just have to vacuum it with the water off a few times to make sure you get it all up, then open doors/windows and you will be fine, mildew won't be a problem

  • @rattielover87

There's no mildew. The carpet is wet for a little while, but I've never had a problem with mildew.

  • @rattielover87 It does not , take it from me , i've been collecting vacs since i was a kinder gardener , using shampooers since I was 8 years old i'm now 2 months away from being 19 so almost 10 years i've been doing this so believe me unless you go over too many times it will not cause mildew. And word of advice landlords are going to be like that cause this happens to them since half of them don't know how to shampoo carpets the right way, and if your paying rent,it should be your choice.

  • All you need is to make sure you use soap as directed if you put to much soap of course it will not rinse off and will stay greasy.try to wash your hair and not rinse it!!!!!

  • you guys are nuts. the machine is not powerfull enough to remove the soap your putting down, soap left behind = resoiling.

  • call the pros... the rug doc is a toy. a pro with a truck mount will deep clean the carpets, not just the tips, and truck mounts have 5-10 time the suction power to suck up all that dirty water rugdoc leaves behind!!!!

  • It's not very very loud....but it's loud enough...You're supposed to hear a difference in the system when the bottom reservoir is empty--I had a harder time hearing that...I just refilled after each room. Hope this helps.

  • Is the rug doctor very loud loud?

  • oh i forgot ones you cleaned the carpet how long does it stays wet for

  • Well i left mine to dry for like a day in one room but the room that i did where i walk back and forth regularly dried a little faster

  • i want to rented one next week did it really work for you does it leave the carpet like brand new does it remove pee stains of doggies is it worth renting it let me know thanks

  • ya man it cleans it well, you will not be dissapointed.

  • so it even removes pee stains hey what shampoo did you get how long does the carpet stay wet

  • I have used before and they work GREAT. I have found that you go over the area twice.

First with soap and water and second with just hot water.

    Wash, then rinse.

You did a good video, good light, used a tripod.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks for the comments i try to make things as real and easy to view as possible.

  • mold makers, no vacuum , no steam , no clean.

  • wow, thats gross. Well these machines are good for cleaning.

  • I've rented these before and they work great...I usually have to make a second pass as the carpet winds up being dirtier than predicted, LOL. I used one in the office I cleaned before the previous tenants moved out of the building, and the carpet changed color with the first pass...the recovered water ended up being solid black.

  • there is so much more to carpet and upholstery cleaning than rug doctor let you know. Im a professional carpet and upholstery cleaner in the uk and I get on average 9 jobs per month from clients who have attempted DIY cleaning with rug doctors.

  • thanks man, cool video. two quick questions for you, did the soap remains go away yet, and how does the rug doctor do on the couch? did it manage to get the dirt out alright?

  • nope the soap is still on the floor, but it is going away where i walk all the time, and i didnt really "see" a difference in the couch, but some dirty water was in the tank when i was done cleaning them my couch is kinda dark colored so its hard to tell.

  • well, i am gonna agree with you 50%, in the room that i showed in the vid, everytihng went fine, but in another room after the carpet dried there is what seems to be dried up soap i guess still remaining and it hasnt gone away af of today.

  • rug doctors are crap!
