I had that trigger finger operation two months ago on my pinky on left hand. Finger doesn't click anymore, but pain suddenly returned... :( I can't wash my hands anymore without pain and II didn't play my guitar for 3 days now. What the hell should I do? Any advice? :(
@Anze491992 Here's what you could try: Call your doctor and ask him (or whoever answers the phone) for a prescription for PT for post-op problems of pain. That should do it. You'll possibly get a scrip that you can take to some local place. You can ask for it to be a PT place nearby. If you need more info, contact me via whatever private messages are called on youtube. I hope that helps. This is what I did and I got two scrips for PT from him for ~3 months. That solved the problems.
@hachamacha Thank you so much! I called them but I will still have to wait some time, to go to the hospital for a check. Our hospital system is so damaged.
Thanks for the videos. I have "trigger finger" on my left hand and the Dr. said I need surgery. Going through some anxiety about losing my dexterity, flexibility and movement. Unfortunately, it's getting near impossible to play and painful. Would appreciate your comments on the surgery and how your hand is now??
Hi eldercare, - If it's one single finger having trigger surgery, and if your back's against the wall, then the surgery for one for me went amazingly well. I was playing (well, this video anyway) within weeks. I ran into some very unusual problems with anesthesia allergec reactions when I had two done at once, but that is 1 in 5000. For the most part, if you do PT afterwards to knock down the scar tissue then the surgery just works. Best of luck to you. PM me if you want. Hashi
Agreed ! I feel the exact same way. Im tossing around the idea of trying to have my guy wire my fishman piezo with the rare earth and see how that sounds...Your thoughts?
Contrary to most people, I suppose, I find the cheap-as-dirt T-170 to be quite a deal. I really have a difficult time telling it up close straight acoustically (not YouTube), from 2K guitars.
The thing that took me some getting used to was the neck which is fairly 'baseball-bat' like.
The other thing I like is how well the pickup I had laying around (sound-hole) sounds in this thing. It's a fishman rare-earth, and sounds great live.
Hope you are recovering well. I also have a silver creek T-170 but your guitar looks differnt from mine..Inlay at the top and gold tuners...Did your guitar come this way or did you make some custom changes?
Hey Justin - Mine had the silver 'grover like' ones that were a bit inaccurate, so I slapped a set of gotoh open back (40 bucks or so), onto it and was a lot happier with the tuning. That was the only change I made. I didn't get one from MF but someone left one in my office ;) so I "inherited" it.
Thanks regarding the recovery and yes, things are going very well.
a joy to hear from you as always, and a guaranteed chuckle with your trademark amusing credits. Great playing.
Sorry to hear about the hand, mate. Sounds like your operation is today, so I wish you all the best with it, and hope you have much improvement and a speedy recovery. Harmonica sounds really nice.... chromatic eh? - very nice.
The single line playing and improvisation are outstanding. The harp is a joy, comping is sweet also. Well done! I hope the issue with your hand gets resolved. Regards, Carl
Thanks so much. I've got the surgery tomorrow afternoon late so probably no more uploads for me for awhile, although I might make one just to show off my post-surgical state for anyone contemplating this.
I did lay down a couple of guitar chord tracks just so I could, if I felt like it, record a couple of harmonica bits while recuperating. I picked up a blues harp today for the first time and am trying to figure it out. (geez, just what I need..)
Hope you have a quick recovery after the surgery. Great playing on both the guitar and harmonica. The guitar playing sounded a little bit like Pat Metheny style.

@Anze491992 Hi - Are you doing PT? I did that for 2 months afterward and it took care of pain that was there which was pretty intense. Good luck -
hachamacha 7 months ago
@hachamacha no, I had no check and no PT "required". Maybe you can help me somehow? thank you! :)

I've tried some things along those lines. I'll send you a message off-line.

Thanks for the reply Hashi!
Curious to hear how you would review our guitar against some other pricier models you might own :)

hi b,
thanks very much. I'm at home trying to make believe I'm a person of patience. Not working so far..
But: while I'm off guitar, I just picked up a cheap blues harp to try to find all the chromatic tones that're hiding there.

Hey Hashi: Sorry to hear about the hand problem and I hope it works out well. I had no idea you could play the harp.
Enjoyed it as always.
