Don't buy these headphones, they sound quite bad for the price (even my old $5 in-ears sound a lot better and have better bass) and now after couple of weeks they've started to sound like broken in certain frequencies. Maybe it's a new version/batch, but this is my experience with the Sennheiser hd202 they're a waste of money and I don't recomend them at all.
hi... i'm just curious.. is this thing loud?? coz some sennheiser entry level products lack volume, though all have great sound stage... and is the bass really heavy and well defined?? i might get one soon conz all the reviews are positive :P
great headphones but to improve the sound quality make or get an amp. right now I'm using my desktop speakers headphone output on max volume with the PC volume at whatever I want it and of coarse the equalizer corrected+the pre-amp at -12
@glacialwaysz Thanks for the heads up. It's trippy how much cheaper they are on there $48-$54.. but takes about one to two months to ship them to where I live.. *sigh* Ah well, thanks again. =)
Just an FYI when you purchase high quality headphones (Sennhieser Klipsch AKG Beyers etc) you need to let them run with with your iPod on shuffle for about 50-300 hours I usually do about 150, in order to get the full effect. It is almost like breaking in a new baseball glove. The bass will seep into the mids less and be lower and more defined. Never give reviews right out of the box because it truly is false information. On some headphones the difference after burn in (what I just ex
@EpicShotz75 For the 202's? No, that's not a good price. They are now ~$20 on Amazon. If it's a different one, like the 203, still no. They're in the $30's on Amazon! :P
i had skullcandy lowriders, they were handled harshly..and survived for a year and i was still happy with those..and now these are sale for 20 bucks...so getting it....!
Are they loud when turned to maximum volume? I'm worried about buying Sennheiser because I tried 2 HD 201s and they are weak (volume wise) although they sound great when you're in a quite place, do these have the same problem? BTW my audio source is my phone
@405thcenterside Umm... I don't know why someone would want to turn these to maximum volume cuz that would just be stupid and make you go deaf, but when hooked up to my iPod, yes they are very loud at maximum volume. I figure the power output would be similar on a phone. If you fire a 50-cal right next to your ear on a regular basis, than you mind not find them that loud.
@shakatu1 Hmmmm, so they are loud enough? thanks! :D I have good hearing actually, its just that the 201s really do sound weak when plugged into a phone, well now not all Sennheisers are weak volume wise
i really have a question for you,did this headphone give crytal-clear sound beside its bass and how much percentge that it will block from ambient noise? Really need yur help in opinion...
@yurihakana Yes the sound is awesome in my opinion. I had a pair of $20 Sony headphones that I thought were decent... and now I gave them to my younger siblings cuz I can't stand them anymore. Ambient noise reduction... it's almost not there when the sound is off, but once music starts pumping... I guess it depends on how loud you listen. At a comfortable listening level for me (25% on Windows 7), I can't hear someone trying to get my attention lol.
OK, I believe you. Good review. I just pushed the buttons and ordered a set at Amazon for $27 shipped. : - |
I am worried about them playing too soft with my portable CD player. They are a low 32-ohm, so they should play louder than the higher ohmage headphones. Will see.
@ToOFrEaKyFoU Yes, 1 year later they are still working great! Notice: I only use them at my desk, not "on the road," so taking them around with you might shorten their life, IDK...
@ToOFrEaKyFoU you get a 2 year Sennheiser warranty with this headphone and i think mostly for all Sennheiser headphones, so that should about help you out.
lollll yeah lucky u reviewed the packet then... cause i wasn't going going to watch this review unless I knew the plastic it came in was high grade...
Does any one no out these three which would bebetter.suited for jvc xtreme xplodes, hd202, or skully candy hesh. Which I have the skullcandys but they rly sqeeze my head and kinda uncomfortable. What should tbink of buyinn?
@conditionbigzero I reckon they have very good clarity in their mids and highs, enough to satisfy some screeching electric guitars. I listen to all types of music be it electro house, rock, metal, pop and these have pulled up quite well. The only tiny problem i have with them is that the adjustable slider to resize the headset smoothes out meaning it might slide down a notch, but it shouldn't be too much of a problem. They do perform very well, and can be played loud as other comment have pointe
@timur50 Yes, they sound great too! In fact, to stress it even further, there was a video I watched where it simulated tinnitus with a high-pitched sound and it made me wanna tear my eardrums out. lol But seriously it works great.
@timur50 I haven't used them, but I do have a review of some Sony Earbuds, and I think those work well, so I would hope the same is true for Sony Headphones. I have used $20 Sony that didn't sound to great, but you get what you pay for even with big brands! I got the Sennheiser because they were so well reviewed, and I enjoy them a lot. If they break, which would probably be years from now, I would definitely get another pair.
@chazday100d I haven't used skull candy hesh before. The only skull candy's I've used were ink'd. I can say that the hd202 is cheaper than the hesh (on amazon), and the hd202 are the best headphones I've ever used.
@chazday100d Don't get Skulcandy Hesh. I just had a pair of those break on me because of the plastic sides. I would recommend getting something with metal sides and interior. The sound quality is good, but they break easily.
My dad bought these 3 years ago and I started using them for blasting my hardcore rap n stuff and they bust so i dunno if its my fault or the fact that their not good enough :P
@oMrHarris Ya, I don't have a legit video camera yet. I have a digital camera that takes decent video, but crappy audio and my laptop records good audio, but crappy video. Most of the time you see the digital camera's feed, and all of the time you hear the laptop's audio feed. It was kinda fun trying to sync the two!
@isaiahpowell97 Sorry I missed your comment. I try to respond right away. I've never used the hpx 4000, but those appear to be on-the-ear which aren't usually as immersive as around-the-ear. Also, the Sennheiser are one of the top rated on Amazon, if not THE top rated for the price.
@metalkid72 Yes and no. It has a thingy you can wrap it around, but that adds weight. It has a belt clip on it, though. Could be nice for plugging into the back of a desktop for a more permanent setup, or using on stage as a monitor.
Hi, just wondering, Do they go over your ear or are they on ear headphones? this is key as I want to use them to keep my ears warm, please let me know, thanks :)
Do they completely cover your ears? Just that I got the HD 205's and they don't cover all of my ears and its really annoying. I'm sending them back and hoping to get these.

Yeah, I tested them later. They keep the sound in. People in the same room can't hear the sound at all when you're wearing them, and can hardly hear them when they're off.
Will they shake on your head with alot of bass because i LOVE bass and i want something with OVERPOWERING bass are these for me please help Thanks

Yeah, I tested them later. They keep the sound in. People in the same room can't hear the sound at all when you're wearing them, and can hardly hear them when they're off.
