I've just been watching the Frank Sinatra movie " Man with the golden arm and discovered the Sweet, great. John Lenneon must 'ave seen the movie when he wrote cold turkey and Everybodie 's got something to hide except me and my monkey 'cos he sure had a monkey on his back (drugs) Thanx for posting
Desolation Boulevard has many good tracks, and this is also one of them. Good drum solo, but not just a solo. Well done intro with the trumpets. The drums, the cymbals, the pauk section, the bells, etc.. I especially liked the combination drumming at 7:10, ending with the ballroom blitz groove, followed by the brilliant ending! Thx for uploading.
.......... ohne worte....... mick du warst der allergeilste...und ich war und bleibe sweet-fan, stevie hing an all meinen wänden und bis heute ist er für mich der hammer............i love sweet.........r.i.p. mick und brian
Wow! This song is all over the map. A little jazz to start with definitely rock and the drummer gets to show off his versatility and training with an excellent solo. I especially love the tympani. Takes me back to band class in middle and high school. Thanks for posting!

What a Great Drum Solo. Ginger Baker should have listened to Mick Tucker, when he did his drum solo in, "Toad". I am surprised Eric Clapton did not know about Mick Tucker. Mick Tucker was absolutely, "Great"!!!
This brings back memories, I was given this on cassette I was about ten, Iplayed the tape so much you could see through it, what an album and what a band.
It would not do for us all to like the same music otherwise the world would be boring!! Listen to Set Me Free and see what you think. I dare say if I listened to your type of music, I would say the same thing and not being petty, I would not leave derisory comments!!
The song is not actually "The Man with the Golden Arm," but "Delilah Jones," from the movie "The Man with the Golden Arm." It was originally done by the McGuire Sisters. (If they sound pretty tame to have done a song like this, remember that Phyllis McGuire was involved with mobster Sam Giancana for years.)
Neil Peart of RUSH is considered by many to be the greatest rcok drummer... but i prefer Mick Tucker!!! Peart actually does the jazzy bits in with his solos now.. I wonder if he's heard this!
I just saw that Steve Priest has his own Sweet now.... :-)?!!
As far as I am aware, Steve does not perform as much as he used to and it is fact Andy that tours with his own version of Sweet and has done for 20 odd years. There are many excellent drummers, past and present and Mick would be one of the best but, its like with any instrument, I don't think anyone can claim to be the best, unless they take an ego trip, but one of the best!!
yeah!!!!!!!!!!!! nice long boring solo

Is Mick on a double-bass kit? If not, that's some kick action worthy of Bonham.
mrblitz00 1 year ago
@mrblitz00 Yeah i think he was. Not too many had the speed of Mr. Bonham's right foot...but still Mick is good.
