  • How long will this keep the PS3 working?

  • Bicycleninjasays,

Thanks for the tips, i followed your video step by step and i got mines to work without the hassle of sending it back to sony and paying that $150. After playing it for a few hours, it went back out and starting flashing the ylod again. You can turn it off for awhile, and it will fire back up for a few hours and shut down again. Can you tell me what i need to do to make it last without turning off after a few hours of play.

  • thanks for teaching me how to do this.

  • can i use a hair dryer

  • Congratulations FILE me exactly they showed and succeeded! works perfectly and without noise I put ceramique2 why not find the silver5 but I make good douleia.kai you again BRAVO!!

  • Yooo!!!!!!!!! this s*** works!!!!!good looks kid. u made that mad easy and it wasnt a waste of time.....for those in the same ylod situation this shit works, how long i dont know yet but my s*** turned on which wasnt happening prior. just cost me 15 for the thermal compound at staples and i just used my girls hairdryer....if it does come on again though honestly i can definitely bang that shit out in 15 min nxt time......GOOD LOOKS AGAIN BRO!!!!!!!!

  • so i did everything and my ps3 worked and started doing the same thing in less than 5 minutes!!! dont know why any help??

  • So this actually worked.... Not saying that I didn't trust you. Just figured it was a long shot. Used it for like 5 hours last night after the fix and it seems to be running great... Thanks alot man... $30 for a heat gun and thurmal paste is much better than $200 bucks to sony... I might even return the heat gun today. Thanks Again.

  • lol my ps3 fell from my table and the sticker came off and the hard drive flew out..=_=

  • You are the man! You saved myself and two boys from going crazy on those rainy days and boring nights. Thanks a bunch, great video you are a natural teacher.

  • Great job. Nice detailed and clear videos. Like that you lay out all tools, etc. that you will be using at the beginning of the video. It worked and I got my COD out. Now we'll just see how long it lasts . . . . Thanks.

  • what if I used an oven and just held the bare motherboard in there?

  • thank you so much i have the 40 gb and we fixed it with a smallish heat gun from a craft store.

  • Thanks so much, it now works!! your tutorial and my wife's steady small hands did the trick :)

  • Brilliant, worked perfect after watching this. Thanks alot !! Much appreciated

  • Okay man you got me sold, this just happened to me today and I'm going to try doing this within the week. It's probably been answered on here but why are you using a heat gun again?

  • you could do that and probably screw up or you could get a slim

  • Just wondering if this would by chance fix the red screen of death and if it doesn't do you know how to fix it thanks

  • I already fixed my PS3 just hours ago but now the USB ports don't work. Do you know what part corresponds to them? I can't play until then because i can't charge my controllers. Plus i use these ports to watch movies and stuff on a portable harddrive.

  • Thank you so much for this great tutorial. It worked out perfectly. I have a 60gb, and had to wing a few things, but I made it through. Now I'm on edge wondering when it's gonna go out again. I guess I should invest in a fan now. Once again thank you, I'm very grateful. GAME ON!

  • what kind of screw is that at the security seal there? cause i cant unscrew that screw with my screwdriver.

    im on a 40gb version ps3

  • @alivemanbankai It might be a hex screw... pay close attention to the type driver I say to use---you don't wanna strip it.

  • @alivemanbankai that was the hardest screw for me to get out. its a torque. basically a star with 6 points

  • @alivemanbankai He says in the videa it's a # 10 torx.

  • @alivemanbankai The screw driver you are asking about is called a TORX T10 screw driver and if you have a slim ps3, you'll need a torx T8 screw driver to open the console. 8) I've done my own fair share of ps3 repairs and I'm gonna open my own little ps3 ( and maybe xbox360) repair service. 8)

  • just fixed mine to. Very good tutorial. If i make donation of $25 will i get the fan posted to United Kingdom?

  • @ni99anugget I don't really like these fans anymore but thanks anyways bro... go on eBay and get one specifically for the PS3 (blows into the back).. the one I bought first was really for a laptop --- still will help though.

  • thanks men i just fixed it! it works perfectly.... i hope it lasts for long

  • i applied the compound. it didnt work. same error. i didnt use a heat gun to hea thte circuit board, only a hot fan, which wouldnt have made it as hot, how important is it to make it really hot first?

  • @quarky123456

It's the main fix so it's very important. The heat gun melts the flux or metal on the other side of the CPU or GPU then it cools back into place. The thermal compound just keeps it from melting again and getting out of place, it's important too.

  • im not going to use it just incase! ive taken the ps3 to pieces and cleaned the cpu's just waiting for the same compound i ordered as you had. ill let you know if it works!

  • @quarky123456 It should work perfectly... but take it easy on your system. Mine has started scaring me again. Try and get a good cooling fan that blows directly into the system... if it breaks again after that -- I don't know what to say.

  • @BicycleNinjaSays Still going or did you have to dismantle it again?

  • aparantly you can use toothpaste for the thermal compound?

  • @quarky123456 Never heard that one.. I didn't know. Wow.

  • how do you get this? on time i gamed for 6 and a half hours and it was fine!

  • when I had my warantee about 9 months the discs woudlnt play and I shit you not ! Next day parcel force van comes with a new ps3 for me i was like errr what now an he was like just swap them .... any one else have this gr8 service ?

  • "I keep things organized."

    You're my kind of guy.

  • @kalbidi Hahaha.. thanx! So many screws..
