Some constructive criticism (and I am in no way a musician), the tone was spot-on, but it's too slow compared to Cooder's movie version. I still like it, though! Btw, the ending, I believe, is left open to interpretation. One of the theories of the plot is that the military was in on the whole thing. So, do they get out, who knows? That's what makes it great, thinking back on what all happened to them. Great movie, in my Top 10 of all time!
Thanks for your constructive feedback. Be sure to check out my newest "Southern Comfort Final Cover" and let me know what you think about that one. take care
yeah, as i get it, they're being picked up, and then it's kinda disturbing to "think back" on the whole operation, which was just supposed to be a training mission. ..somebody shot rudolf ;)
thanks man! i can honestly say that i've reached the mood tone-wise, even if this quite a simple interpetation of the tune. Sonn tohugh, i will upload a new version, since i've learned half the song now. I'm looking forward to recording it!
This is great! Nice and simple. I can see the movie in front of my eyes. Great film, with action and somehow disturbing atmosphere. In the middle of woods. Freaky!
hello back, from Norway! I don't really know how to define the cajun sound, except that it is built on slow blues and slide sounds. muddy/dirty sound effects helps too, and this video is as far as I got to creating such sound. not quite there, but you catch the drift ;)
you'll never know where you left it or when you'll find it..or who will bring it back to you.....i feel comfort listening to you play...you got it...i think you brought it back
believe it or not I found it at Wal-Mart. you can order it rom any big chain store ,Barnes & Nobles etc. it's a Samuel Goldwen Mayor (sic) film fairly easy to find. Classic R.C. colas an Moonpies
Nice! you really captured the feeling of the film! I found that tuning to DADF#AD and just nusking along numerous times really got the atmos too...but brilliant...nice original version. Right there in the swamp...remember the Cajun undertones are worthwhile trying to capture
Thanks alot! This was done with regular guitar tuning, but watching your vid helped me more on my way. Maybe soon I will record a version with electric guitar and bottleneck, to really get the feel! got some experience there as well :)))

Fan of this movie since I was a kid, don't think Boothe & Carridine did something together again till Deadwood. No scenes together though.
