Excellent job my man great craftsmanship and also the ability to construct it and visualize your project... I'm in the middle of mine and looking for ideas
Hi, nice room, good job overall. How in-line is the centre speaker from the Left and Right? Does the sound dip as it moves from left to right? Do you have a smiley face front channel sound?
I really take my hat off to the beautiful custom home theater you have. But do not agree that the sub is the main part of a cinema. I think this is a center speaker. since 60-70% of the audio comes out of this channel.
The next front speakers and then sub. And last surround speakers
i agree with this dude the center channel plays a lot of the audio and movies tend to have long low notes that drown out higher frequencies leaving you with a lot of bass and people asking what did he say i couldn't quite hear him over the diesel engine in the background..
Did you spend so much money on your home theatre system that you couldn't afford to start over after you farted? I also noticed there was "minimal distortion" of your fart.
This is by far my favorite theater on youtube. I have gone to your website and I still didn't see what I was looking for. If it is not to personal I would like to know how much you paid for the entire theater finished project.
Where do you live? I am in the process of building my theater in my basement and I would hire you in a heartbeat. Any chance you might be in the Philly area?
A screen that is too large for a room is a common mistake. Most projectors cannot produce a high quality image for screens larger than 100 inches. Although I can safely use a 130" screen with my projector, it would simply be too big for the room. To learn if your screen is the right size, check out my seating distance calculator at diymovierooms(dot)com. Everyone has their own preference, but keep in mind the larger the screen the more trade-offs you are making in regards to image quality.
@dlp710 My projector is JVC RS10 and it performs very well. Not sure what PJ your using but mine performs outstanding without any trade offs. Image is excellent and black level is really good. AVS member sherardp, see my pics there.
That is a fantastic layout. Excellent craftsmanship and design. My wife and I built our home theater. It took us 3 years. We did everything ourselves on a very limited budget. Looking forward to more videos.
@dlp710 i understand and relate i'm about to embark in such mission and am a father of 7 and will also need a door lock of sort (it's as is and i have 5 hdtv's and can't get an hour in sideways)lol.
All the floor lighting is low voltage, 12v and is run from a transformer installed in the back (audio/video) room. The lighting is the same found in Regal Theaters and all the lights are LED and can be dimmed via the Grafik eye controller via scenes.
The steps were made by framing out a platform and installing that on top of the concrete floor. I used 12" x 8' pressure treated lumber, cross braced it every 2' and then glued and screwed tonque and groove plywood base as the flooring. On top of that went the lighting system and the carpet just slides into the groove.
Very Impressive setup. Most decent theater i seen on youtube. What kinda receiver are you using for audio? and, what speakers? good job on creating your setup. May be next time you can have a video playing a movie preview?
I did the acoustics. I purchased the fabric at a local retailer and installed them with a foam-like backing on top of the wood; and stapled the fabric on the back. I'll post a cost breakdown shortly.
Most of the work was done by myself. I hired a contractor for the drywall and basic electrical, but 80%+ of the work was DIY. For more info, please visit diymovierooms(dot)com
I really want to build one of these when I own a house someday, I have lots of cool ideas for one. :D I like yours, and the lock is funny (young kids = complete destruction)

@imafisher67 for more information, including costs, design ideas, and do it yourself information please visit: diymovierooms(dot)com
I'd plan on budgeting 10-20k if you DIY, but you could easily build one for under 10k initially and save some upgrades for later.
