Can't have the 80s without the cold war. It was, IMO, the reason why it was great, though. In naive, unassuming, too-young-to-really-question, youth it was a big part of what made the air of the decade the decadent, dark, uninhibitedly creative time it was. Everything is everything, astute young one.

Oh yeah, MTV could put a song in a box while before the music was in your head and up to you to visualize. The actual song is much guitar hotter and 2 minutes longer. I never saw this until you tube. Thank goodness.

Thats cool! I was a highschool junior when this came out this guy was my total hero, I had the same haircut he had in the rebel yell phase but it was black. Everyone said I looked just like him, I was a "punker" too! LOL I saw him live twice and have yet to see a show that could top him.

By the way, that old fellow driving around in the old car is Johnny Ray, who was a very popular singer from the 1950's. He had hits like "The Little White Cloud That Cried" and he was known for making himself and his many female fans cry.
