I love the Saturday Market. I know a lot of people complain "Eugene's boring." "Eugene is full of potheads." "Eugene has too many hippies." To be honest, there's no other place I'd live. Eugene is supposed to be all hippie & nature loving yet the Saturday Market does not aloow dogs. What the fuck is that? My dogs are cleaner than most of the people there! My dogs are well groomed & mannered yet the crazy homeless meth addict can roam freely! This is why Eugene is Bullshit! This city should be on Penn & Teller's Bullshit! as a cool city. And for being country fucks this town has no idea about dog behaviour! Visit any dog park in Eugene & you will see!
Your dogs may be the best behaved and cared for, and you pick up their poo when the do their business. However, it's the "Trustafarian" kid with the dog on a rope that doesn't pick up the poo, or the red neck hick who refuses to use a leash and the dog starts jumping on people, or biting people, or trying to get their food. Yup, I've seen it all, it's too bad, yes, but unfortunately the minority of irresponsible dog owners, out weigh the majority of good ones
Yes they do. Due to the fact that I have large livestock gaurdian breeds I get turned away from many venues. The fact is that they are the gentlest of breeds. Yes they are large & yes they are intimidating to a coyote or stranger on the property but they are not vicious & not uncontrolled. I am tired of people who have smaller dogs that are untrained that due to appearance give giant breeds a bad rep.
Yes, even my dog, an Aussie Shepherd, is large for his breed, 43 kilo's, lets see, that's about 95 pounds for you folks eh. We get the same problems as you when we go out, even though he's always on leash and very well behaved. I did some grad school work at the U of O, although I don't think I'd say I hated Eugene, it is an odd place.
I love Eugene, growing up in Eugene I visited the Sat. Market quite a few times. I recently moved to Portland and really enjoy the PDX Sat. Market it reminds me of Eugene =)
man...i love it here in Eugene. Born in 95' and still lovin' eugene...so laid back...hippie's are awesome heck we even got barack obama. I LOVVVEEE EUGEENENENEN <3 my little hometown <3
