  • 2.Why don't you complain about Abuja,Lagos,or Port Harcourt carnivals, that are thus named? Why don't you complain about the Arungu Fishing festival, which isn't called the Nigerian fishing festival.

I'm happy for those that are happy for us, but let it be known by it's name...CALABAR CARNIVAL.

  • Many countries around the world have lost their culture, you need to appreciate those still have their's

  • This is CALABAR CARNIVAL,not Nigerian carnival!

  • yes it is,but it is KNOWN,CALLED AND ADDRESSED AS CALABAR CARNIVAL, because there are many carnivals in Nigeria! DUH!!!!!

And your grammer is very lacking:'Calabar not in nigerian?' WTF!!!!!

  • you are more than an idiot,to assume that I didn't go to school! One error is a mistake, granted, but two! Imagine spelling Nigerian with a small 'n'! That's just a curse of illiteracy, which obviously you have been 'blessed' with!

    UNAM IKOT!!!!

  • say what you like! for a long time,Calabar, and people from Calabar, were always the butt of everybodys jokes, now that we are doing things for ourselves,by ourselves, people like you complain! Why don't you call Nottinghill Carnival English Carnival?

It is called known and addressed as 'CALABAR CARNIVAL' and it always will! If you don't like it..........

  • dude watever,suit urself.

  • I'm well suited thank you very much!

  • Was Calabar regarded as part of Nigeria, when we weren' t doing as well? undersabi

  • Calabar has always been considered part of Nigeria.

  • Shey: you'd be surprised! the way in the past that we had been overlooked, given the least in the budget, and handing over our brethren in Bakassi, nay Bakassi itself, you must be joking!

  • All the states in Nigeria have their problems and most of it is the government's fault. No body ever said Calabar was not part of Nigeria then and I am sure when you were feeling all those things you were saying you are Nigerian, so now that Calabar is rising and people are saying good things about it, what is the problem? Calabar had always been part of Nigeria and no one has ever denied that. People are simply happy for Calabar that's all. Why are you now actling like people denied Calabar?

  • shegy: Well I don't know what exactly you know about Calabar, but as an Efik from Calabar/CRS, I know exactly how we have been overlooked, in terms of sharing of wealth, quotas for our people in the Federal parastatals, even right down to ceding Bakassi to Cameroun, which if it had been Igbo,or Yoruba land for instance, Nigeria would've fought tooth and nail to keep it!

I'm stressing that it's Calabar Carnival, because we achieved this on our own!

Calabar Carnival puts US on the map world wide
