I personally think this would look pretty good. Though it does seem to have a bit more of a...Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter feel to it, as opposed to anything.

All live-action video-game films are trash because the prospect of making a video game live action causes the film-makers to depart from the source material way too much, because they think certain things about video games are silly or childish and change things. That's why 'cinematic releases' are always utter failures. It's sad. Games should stay games. You can't emulate a game in live-action. At least Hollywood can't.

if you ask me it just looks like a bunch of fanboys with rich parents at a halo party that got bored and took a break put on some cheap costumes and filmed something at an abandoned construction site and added some special effects. i dont see how anybody can go over budget while making a movie like this

For this movie to be "PERFECT", it'll need more than just good CG and Master Chief. Bungie should seriously be working with them, have Marty lead the dev. of sound and music.

The producers got their funding pulled after they spent $150 million getting next-to-nothing done. So after 20th Century Fox refused to finish paying for the film production (which at the said rate would have cost $400 million) the entire project was put on hold until Bungie and Peter Jackson can find another source of funding. They did say Bungie was working almost unusually close to the project and had a much deeper level of involvement in the film production than that of any other VG movie.

Not enough. It's about profit over expenditure. If you spend more making the movie than you do selling the movie you lose money. It's basic economics, Peter Jackson and those cocky bastards at Weta Workshop spent $140 million making the first 3rd of the film! That's nuts! At that rate they'd have spent $400 million on the final film, I don't care what anyone says, no film has or ver will gross enough money to pay for that, that's why they pulled the funding.
