  • I think I follow your thought. The ego and pride are very relative to our emotional, social, and personel pitfalls. I dont think as a civilization we are really taught enough about what it means, truly to be human. We are all misguided by all the distractions from media and religion. Religion knowingly lies to the world and currupts all kinds of people making them think they are actually better then someone else. We need more real world thought in public schools We are just animals that talk !

  • False, my persona's are expressions of what I am as a total being. But thank you for thinking and communicating.

  • @deltaoleg : Matthew?

  • WTF has this to do whith The Venus Project?

  • @MagnitudePerson : why do you think it has anything to do with it?

  • HeyI noticed the same thing with my reactions on other people. Also I applaude for your braveness to put this video on youtube.I think your right with your comments on the angry reaction that the ego is speaking.

Keeping in check that i am perceived as the good person that i am is important because i want to be respected or understood/be known. Because i want people think good about me/ or not bad about me. But should one care? After some step I ended with selfdoubt.. sigh

  • @Sandstorm0101 : basing yourself on what others think about you is limiting and seperation. Because then you change according to how others see you and you need others judgements to feel good about yourself. Its a system inside us which we shouldnt allow to controle us. Sometimes people just dont like to hear what you say, especially when its confronting.

  • The other way of looking at it is you're not defending your ego, more your social standing, which I feel would be a more accurate statement. For example, there is a girl I work with who doesn't take responsibility for her mistakes. She clearly knows that she has done wrong but defends herself, not because its who she thinks she is, but rather its who she wants others to think she is that matters.

That said, I don't completely disagree with what you say.

  • I understand, but thats what I mean. Because defending what we want others to think about us is also a point of ego.

  • @SpamAnn That really depends on your difinition of the word Ego. This kind of thinking, ie presenting yourself as something that you don't even believe, is a much more abstract concept than how I would define ego, as you are essentially being dishonest with yourself in an attempt to project a sense of unity within a group.

I frequently abandon my ego to maintain a facade of belonging, which is more what I'm getting at. I don't think my previous example was very good, as I suppose she lies.....

  • @kingquaps ...in order to preserve self-worth as well. (In my defence it was late and I'd been drinking, and I clearly failed in my choice of examples).

Anyway, I hope that better explains what I mean.

  • alcohol fucks with you, suggest not to drink it.

  • ego is a lot of things, its an idea / believe we have off ourselves and stubbornly want to hold on to, or want others to think a certain way about us. Whats the reason for holding a facade of belonging?

  • @SpamAnn It makes the necessary parts of life easier. And as for alcohol; I really don't see the problem with it. The distillation is one of the purest expressions of art there is, because it takes a great deal of skill and knowledge to do it right, and even then (as with so many things in life) even the best can fall foul of bad luck.

Incidentally, the UK government's suggested limit for alchol consumption is below the amount which research suggests is beneficial.

  • Look at the effects of alochol in this world. The way people become irresponsible, lunatics, idiots, and unreasonable. Its is one of the biggest and most wide spread forms of abuse one can do to oneself and others.

  • @SpamAnn Of course anything is open to abuse in the wrong hands. Making such a big generalisation is the sort of reactionary response that fills the media to scare people into living the way they think they should. Besides which, I imagine the sort of people who behave in such ways due to alcohol do not describe it as I do because for them it is about intoxication, not synthesis of flavour.

One dimensional perception is a dangerous thing.

  • you just said: In my defence it was late and I'd BEEN DRINKING.

Saying thus, you had been affected by drinking and allowed yourself to be. The people in my surroundings, my community here, almost all drink and get drunk regulary. Its a global addiction and is poison and a hard drug. Drinking alcohol to get intoxicated means one is experiencing oneself as "not good enough" in one way or another, using alcohol to experience another part they desire to.

  • @SpamAnn Yes I did allow myself to be affected, but I also implied that this was a result rather than a motivating factor. I agree whole heartedly that alcohol can do bad things but it is not alcohol itself that is the problem. The problem, as you touched upon, is the people.

A knife can be used to kill, but also to break bread. It is not the tool but the person who uses it that makes the difference.

  • This is a video response to Jacque Fresco's video "Research & Development," yes? So what does this video have to do with that?

  • the video is to get people open to jacque fresco and what he stands for, to go to my video channel and consider the things I have shared. Thats the reason

  • You are so smart....i wish i could have sex with you.

  • i experienced this recently when I was late to work.. I left at my normal time to arrive early but the bus had some challenges and I was late - when confronted at work I got defensive as it seemed as if they where projecting that i was irresponsible and don't know that i am supposed to be on time. so this threatened my egos self definition of perfection and feared being looked at as less than perfect -- i've tried to maintain a "perfect" image in the eyes of others all of my life until recenlty.

  • thx for sharing eric!

  • thanks ann

  • I have to kill my personalities and self-definitions whom I perceive myself to be and defend at any cost which is having an outcome,a manifestation, a consequence - its destroying LIFE

    Thanks Ann!

  • ...(continuance) the last thought is de "I" thought, that must be seen as well, but "nobody" or not "some another thought" must eliminate it.

it has to be seen through the ilusion. it is not a mistical experience, it is a direct practical seen of the ilusion about who we believe( think) we are.

  • really good girl!

you see, even to think yourself as a desteni soldier is a identification with your ideias e thoughts, because being desteni defender is also a thought.

and believing not to be a desteni soldier is another thought as well.

so, as you said, whatever you defend or attack is a identification with thought... (to be continued)

  • Woah spamann. We are on the same page.

Ego; the, collection of thoughts and memories which have one function: to replicate itself again, again, again every moment.

To see the ego as it is and actually being, yourself is true freedom. Its freedom from the known. Freedom from knowledge. From ideas about who or what you or others are.

    Favourited!

  • good video message about ego n stuff, just wished you had finished what you were saying
