  • In the first episode he could clearly win, but he stopped to take a photo. He wouldn't do that 20 episodes later. :D

  • Dick Dastardly did win and I'm agreeing with misterlorik!

  • Yes you are right. He won that fair and square.

  • Especially considering this was among the LEAST devious things Dick has done, this was a total cheat.

  • What the hell?! Those judges are even more dastardly than he is!

DD is just misunderstood. He's just an anti-authoritarian iconoclast.

That's why the powers-that-be robbed him of a fair win.

    Fight the power, Dick!

  • @MrGlennL Regardless, other racers still used the same technique as him and didn't get penalized for it.

  • I'm agreeing with what you're saying!

  • This is an absolute outrage! Altered footage was clearly substituted for the genuine footage and is just typical behaviour by the anti-Dick Dastardly camp who have a huge hold over the Wacky Races. :D

  • He won fair and square he was allowed to do that why do u think it's called a wacky race duh people do cheat to win he won that fair a square the judges have no reason to dq him for cheating when everyone was allowed to

    So the judge cheated

  • No he lost, because the judges LIE, THEY LLLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The judges made that up so the girl would win XD

  • My theory ont his clip, which I've thought since I saw it on TV way back, was that while he MAY have done that... It's no different than half the other stuff the other racers do. Yet Dastardly is somehow disqualified for it? That's not right!

  • It's a cartoon, it doesn't need to be so accurate. This is how the producers wanted it to be, that Dastardly used an extensible arm to cheat. If the arm were shown from beginning the audience would know he didn't won in the first place.

  • merry mas and happy new year to you to. did you tape it tho????

  • @dazzybaby121 Thanks :-) Its actually a DVD. The poor quality comes from using a standard digital camera to make a movie, they dont work well watching a TV. I think it depends on Frame rate although not sure.

  • @misterlorik yea man i think i tried it before like and the screen seems to take lines across it. you must have a half tidy camera then. i didnt know they did these on dvd????

  • @dazzybaby121 I found that not having the camera facing the TV directly helps, Check out Amazon :-) They should have them on there.

  • @dazzybaby121 - Lol Merry Xmas and a happy new year to you too! Just remember you watched the video as well so we can be sad together :-)

  • @LinkandRutofan Get a Life!!!

  • Let's read into this a little.

It's okay to cheat, as long as you screw over the one person nobody else likes and when that person has any success whatsoever, they must be punished severely. If you're the one person who has difficulty succeeding or face adversity, then screw you. You deserve it and should be punished for existing, Dick Dastardly was cool, I always wanted him to win but the only entity involved in the races that wasn't against him (other than Muttley) was the Announcer.

  • creepy trip to lemon twist is the episodes name...

  • @LinkandRutofan I thought the video is quite self explanatory? The replay the judges showed does not match how he passed the line.

  • @LinkandRutofan Unfortunately I dont have the dvd's as they belong to an ex of mine lol. But it was on one of the 3 volumes that have been released

  • even if he did extend his car, the beaver guy once stuck out his head to edge the race, I see no difference to what dasterdly did

  • Comment removed

  • Judge just wanted Penelope Pitstop to win.

  • How can you say that everything Dick Dastardly dose is cheating when the wacky races have no set rules. If he breathes is that cheating too?

  • Dang. That episode just came on Boomerang a few minutes ago. That was foul... =/

  • Dick Dastardly is the hardest working fucking racer in the god damn Wacky Races and he gets screwed out of his victories far too often. Call me an advocate for the Devil, but damnit he deserves it.

  • this is almost as bad as the dissallowed england goal.

  • Not only did he not extend the car, the pink car wasnt even THERE.

  • @16deadpool

    It was...haha

  • This episode defeated the whole purpose of "Wacky Races". Easily the worst episode of the series.

  • hehe I used to love this as a kid and I like ur swoosh sound lol

  • @ffscantfindausername - Ah yes had only a small budget for sounde effects lol. I like your user name, quite amusing!

  • after this he turned to catching pidgeons with double d's brother zilly

  • @Mobyuv20 - I hope he was more successful at that than he was in Wacky Races!

  • Add to that one of the other racers pulled a trick like this in another episode and nobody thought it was cheating. Of course if Datardly didn't stop to cheat so much he would win all the time.

  • He won in an episode that tool place in the Soviet Union. The prize was a red quare. He just won a red square and not the place!

  • that counts because its a trick and in the wacky races they are allowed to do tricks! cheater! the judges are cheating

  • He won a race in fender bender 500 to. But how can he not win he followed the rules of the road.

  • just bs he won and that peter perfect guy streches his car all the time but dick dastardly could win alot of races if he just keep driving when he was ahead instead of setting more traps

I do remember an episode where he actually won legit

  • @psp785 & If I remember correctly, didn't Rufus Ruffcut win under the same circumstances in another episode?

  • @masterlee93 Yes, es he did

  • @masterlee93 Yes, yes he did

  • he won....just not FAIR lolz

  • even if that was the real footage, then it should be accepted anyway - after all, isnt this meant to be a wacky race? where everyone cheats anyway?

  • Dick Dastardly would have won basically every race if he didn't keep stopping to set some ridiculous trap and just kept driving instead.

  • Wouldn't have won no matter what he did cause the guy's name is Dastardly so cartoon laws punish him basically for existing.

There, someone had to say it.

  • Yes, complete discrimination.

  • I think that was to teach children not to set traps during track meets

  • ... Even though I'm not a fan of his, even I can safely say he won by cartoon standards. If everyone was put to those standards no one would win. Hell, in comparison Dick is far more honest, at least he admits that he cheats. The others? They are generally cheat more blatantly, like flying over entire areas, and still get away with it without the judges even blinking an eye.

    Double standards much?

  • But even then it's more like the judge decided to retcon the LAST 30 SECONDS. I mean, what the hell? I wasn't JUST the nose of the car, the placement distance was changed.

  • Dick Dastardly unquestionably has the fastest car; it's only due to his obsessive compulsion to cheat that keeps him from winning. The one time he's able to fight it, the judges do some cheating of their own, and he's disqualified! On top of that, this only serves to reinforce DD's obsessive-compulsive disorder! The judges are a bunch of jerks.

  • @Altimadark There's another episode where he is about to win, but when he realizes he's going to win a HONEST victory, he stops and loses on purpose.

    Obsessive-compulsive disorder indeed!

  • He really won! That's not fair...

  • This is a Wall Banger in two ways. The video showed here listed one, where he didn't extend his "nose" to reach the finish. And even if he did, why not? Considering what everyone else does, he's not allowed?

  • for anyone who got here through TVTropes, "Status quo is God" when applied the wrong way, am I right? [seriously, Dasterly really did win, I mean, I'm not one for the villain winning, but fair is fair if you ask me, and let's face it, that last minute "cheat" was a complete asspull (I don't mean to sound like I'm succumbing to fandumb, but still)]

  • lol

  • If he didn't cheat, why is the next scene showing him venting over his car's extended nose cone? So, he did cheat after all.

  • One, by cartoon convention that isn't even cheating. Two, just because you see in the next scene that he HAS it doesn't mean he actually USED it.

  • @Astrobot7000 Even if he did cheat, why could other drivers get away with doing the same thing?

  • Dastardly won that race unfair and square. You know, those damn judges never once demanded to see an instant replay with all the other racers. They had guys whose cars could fly or had fire breathing dragons in them, but somehow that stuff was always allowed...

  • Almost every great series had one particularly bad episode which messed the whole thing up, and this episode of Wacky Races was a decent example. Easily the worst race ending ever.

I would have rated this episode 0 stars out of 5 if I could.

  • For me, this was the episode that FUCKED UP the entire series. It completely defeated the purpose of "Wacky" Races. As you show, Dastardly didn't extend his car, but in the replay, it shows that he did (it was obviously altered by the judges), and it was used as an excuse to disqualify him. This had to be the WORST episode of the whole series.

And did you notice later on that the commentator didn't even know what Dastardly had been disqualified for?

  • O.O

but on my dvd it has a bunck of smoke in that secne!

  • Smoke?! So we have smoke missing and altered footage! The plot thickens! Penelope Pitstop was 2nd so I wreckon she is cheating and probably paid the judges!

  • @misterlorik more like "slept with"

  • i mean a bunch of smoke stuped key board and lol

  • I say lets start a "petition online" to make them give the award to Dick Dastardly!

    He won this time!

  • Sounds like a plan! How does one go about about doing that?

  • I TOTALLY AGREE!!! I remember watching this episode on CBS on Saturday morning when I was a kid, and thought he got screwed back then!! In another race, Rufus Ruffcut did the same thing by stretching his neck over the finish line, and they never disqualified him. Is it no wonder ol' D.D. turned to a life of cheating when the judges are clearly biased against him?

  • Perhaps someone should alter the wikipedia page! He deserves first place points! So glad I'm not the only person who thinks he was cheated.

  • Perhaps he never actually lost ever... all a sceme, it was the judges who made it seem like he lost! thats why he trys to destroy the other cars, its the only way the judges cant proove him wrong, if everyone else cant race!

  • He won
