Yes, Marcel Lefebvre was tied to the Action Française, an anti-Semite movement condemned by Pope Pius XI.
@KittyAllChainedUp, stop being used to carry on a political agenda! Learn some history so you can know what you are standing up to! And then come back to the One, True Church, outside of which there is no salvation!
@SmartWarthog You don't need to go back as far as Lefebvre: Are you forgetting Williamson? And BTW, I'm a leader, not a follower - so I am not being used by anyone, lol. And I am more than proficient in history; I never digress into the silliness of conspiracy theory territory, however, unless I am looking for a laugh.
@KittyAllChainedUp Why do you call me a modernist? Is it because I called you "traditionalists"? I didn't do so because I think being traditionalist is bad (I don't, in fact, it's part of being Catholic). I did so because I think you are no more traditionalists than the Old Catholics, which also claim they never separated from the Church and that they are withholding Tradition and the True Faith, whereas the whole rest of the Church has fallen into heresy.
@SmartWarthog I DO believe that Vatican II was invalid and that the Church HAS fallen into heresy. Just look at what is going to go on AGAIN in Assisi - where in the 80's JP2 allowed a Buddha to be put on top of the Tabernacle and adhered to their demands to not allow a statue of Our Lady of Fatima remain in the Church. If a Pope can not follow the FIRST Commandment - how can there be any question as to his heresy???
And btw - my political views do not religion make, LOLOLOL.
To the ignorant schismatic "traditionalists": this is the Pauline Mass. Now stop ranting, go learn some actual theology and stay away from the FSSPX...
@SmartWarthog To the ignorant so-called "Roman Catholics" who don't know enough about their own faith to realize that the Novus Ordo (which you ridiculously call the "Pauline Mass" - when Paul VI replaces St. Paul in the adjective "Pauline" - that's when we'll know you ridiculous modernizers have gone COMPLETELY crazy.) Go read "Quo Primum" by Pope Saint Pius V and then try and call "Traditionalists", "schismatics". The TRUE Catholic Mass is the Mass of TRENT.
@KittyAllChainedUp I'm not just trolling here, I am serious. Also, I never said the Gregorian Mass (or Tridentine if you like, although this is inaccurate) is false. But if you say it is the only True Catholic Mass, then what do you say about the Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom (which is even older, by the way)?
You don't know what you're talking about. What is the problem with the Novus Ordo? What do you want me to realise about it? I did read Quo Primum, by the way.
@KittyAllChainedUp Behold everybody, this is the new face of modernism! The same "sola fide" dogma presented in a new style, a new way that makes it look like it's actually an old thing, not a new thing. A style that depicts it as "standing by the True Faith and the Tradition", while what it is actually doing is distorting the Faith and redefining the Tradition.
What actually moves this is not love of the Church, or the Faith, or the Tradition, but a monarchist political agenda.
Back in the 60's and early 70's, Trappist monks at an abbey in Massachusetts stopped using Gregorian chant. They replaced it with bad English versions of chant and other hymns, sung to a guitar. Thank God it's being used again.
I tell you my fellow Christians, that all the sins in this world is accountable to the churches, for if they only unite and upheld free giving instead of buying and selling, there could be no robber and thieves among them, nor is there a chance for athiestic view to rise. The Way of God had suffered abusive speech from the enemies of God because the churches are harlot.
Gregorian Chant and Latin contribute so much to the Universality of the Church. For instance this is in Brazil and I do not speak Portugese but yet I connect with the Latin beautiful Christmas Chant That proclaims the Birth of our Blessed Lord. I will rejoice if the Tridentine Mass becomes the Ordinary again. The Kyrie is Beautiful it really contributes to the solemn plee for mercy. Even though this isn't the Mass of the Council of Trent I am still enjoying it.
This is not the Tridentine Mass but the Mass of Paul VI, which can be said in Latin and certainly does not exclude the use of Gregorian chant, as these monks clearly know and practice
Puer natus in bethlehem, alleluia: unde gaudet Ierusalem, alleluia, alleluia, in cordis iubilo, Christum natum adoremus, cum novo canticum.Assumpsit carnem filius, alleluia, Dei Patris altissimus, alleluia, alleluia.

@KittyAllChainedUp How that single event related to Vatican II.
Your rationale is not valid.

@SmartWarthog You're definitely right my friend. We should all accept Paul VI's mass. Especially in this form.

Guitars suck, they are banal and so Novus Ordo PROTESTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!
MyBetty111 1 year ago
Why are many Abbey altars so plain and bare? What happened to the traditional High Altar. We are so tired of Julia Child's Table!

Guitars need to be banned forever from all Catholic churches everywhere. Guitars are the "illegitmate" musical instruments of Vatican II.

@nickelsT lol instruments are the illegitimate musical instruents of the Vatican.

Eu já fui lá uma vez. Muito bonito. Queria ir na missa de domingo, se não me engano das dez, que é cantada e em latim! Você não mora em São Paulo?

The English translation is:
A child is born to us, and a Son is given to us: Whose government is upon His shoulder: and His Name shall be called, the Angel of Great Counsel.
(Ps.97. 1). Sing ye to the Lord a new canticle: because He hath done wonderful things.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the begining, is now, and shall be forever. Amen
lwnf360 3 years ago
The words are:
Puer natus est nobis, et filius datus est nobis, cujus imperium super humerum ejus et vocabitur nomen ejus, magni consilii Angelus.
Cantate Domino canticum novum quia mirabilia fecit.
Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto. Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper, et in saecula saeculorum. Amen.
