Ah, I am not sure I am supposed to speak. My classmate Derek St. Holmes played at my my junior high "Snowball". His friends, and Brian. All of them, were a grade ahead. But, Derek and Brian went to Toronto for their clothes. 9th grade. they were Cool.
Well, I love Ted's guitar playing, but honestly It's him that brings politics into it. I just want to hear him play guitar. I mean go ahead and hunt, I don't care, but I don't want hear about that. I'm a fan of his MUSIC.
i think the reason jonas bros came up when you searched for this song is cause being the marksman / hunter Nuge is i think he'd want you to print out photo of the jonas's and use it for target practice...remember- happiness is a belt loaded weapon & good rock & roll...
I have seen both ted and derek play hey baby live, this song needs both artists to be done right. there was a great live acousric version done on teds radio show when they mended their fences.
i was a teenager when i a free album from a radio station in los angeles. i chose "cat scratch fever' since it was just released and was being promoted heavily. this song was a standout, and i never doubted it would withstand the test of time. comments by RenardWarrior are right on and deserve repeating: "One of the best classic rock songs ever."
Manufactured Nugent...Knew him back in the 60's in Detroit.. Politics aside, an asshole then as well as now...The Dukes real the real deal when he was part of it all rather than the "star"
Beatles overrated? Really? Come on, 2 of the best singers of all time, the other 2 were damn good too...Oh yeah, pretty damn good players too...And writing? It's one thing to have preferences, but dismissing the Beatles is just goofy.
The only time Ted ever got into the "zone" with the guitar. He needs a boogie back beat and this song has it. Those fills are pure fire and the solo is hot. He never gets there on any of his other songs.....close but just doesn't get into that hyper zone. This is the only time.
@prober45 im not comparing Ted and Page, please read my previous post. i'm saying that if you are judging Ted by Martin's choice to produce a film on him, well thats just plain dumb. As far as the Beat-less goes, never understood all the hype! I'll take The Kinks and The Stones anyday over the over rated Beatles
its saturday morning. last night i drank an 18 pack 2 cans of jungle joose and a half pint of jagermiester and i have a terrible hangover. but terrible ted will make it all better.
ted is one of the badest mudafuckin rock n roll artists of all generations put together. this cat will knock the fuck out of you an keep right on rockin lol. one of the greatest ever born....
The MCMM has been shooting blanks since he gave up his >SILVER BULLET ST. HOLMES> Those vocals are what brought Ted to the top and he just could not handle being a Beta Dog to Dereks Alpha attributes. It was a group hunt Ted! Someone had to push and drive so you could get the shot off! Your songs are forever my anthems and your on the CD every November 15th in Northern Mich. Opening Day coming up Brother ! ! ! Gonna put a BIG 8 to sleep for ya and enjoy some Whitetail and Whiskey.
Hey Baby, jump in the back of my car I'm gonna kiss and hug you baby, I'm gonna stir your heart All you pretty women you're so far and in between I don't need no fancy types I need the ones that's clean Hey baby, I don't want you hanging round I ain't got time for kissing I'm too busy stepping in this town Hey, baby, hey, baby So follow me down the miles, baby I'll show you the real love game You know what I'm talking about, baby Here we go
My son has a mix of songs on his XBOX 360 that he listens to while playing games, mainly GTA IV. Hey just drives around in a piece of crap station wagon called the "Regina"(?) and blasts out a bunch of old rock that I haven't heard in years. Some other notable songs he plays are Too Hot to Handle by UFO, one of my personal favorites, and Same old Song and Dance by Aerosmith, another classic. He's gonna be grow up to be a DJ hopefully, or maybe a criminal because of the games he plays lol.
Somebody in about '78 asked the Nuge whay "effects" he used between that badass Birdland and that wall of twin reverbs. His answer? "A 75 foot Rhino Guitar Cable."
Hm Id rather hear the main riff the way Freddie king plays it, plus I dislike how Ted Nugent says that Jimmy page is just a thumblefinger that always got on my nerve
@prober45 Ted Nugent can own Jimmy page in his sleep. Ted Nugent plays soulful all American rock n roll. No body does it like the Nuge. Nuge is a pioneer.
@helpdonate1 your opinion is that of someone who knows didley squat about music. But if you're very narrow mind allows you to believe that chit...goferit!
@prober45 Are you kidding?! Jimmy Page plays like he's wearing boxing gloves....Him and Clapton are 2 of the most over rated guitarists EVER....just my humble oppinion
@prober45 Jimmy Page is the most OVERRATED guitar player of all time!!!! I absolutely hate hearing Zeppelin on the radio and change it to a different station when they play that crap. Nuge is hands down better in style and technique than Page. With an added bonus...Nuge wasn't drugged out of his head like Page. Guitar players like Ted Nugent and Neil Schon are underrated. I'll bet you read Rolling Stone magazine too.
@prober45 Page was/is a GREAT PRODUCER but as a guitar player LIVE he's awful...Stairway to Heaven was a great solo but live Page was/is always too sloppy for me...
@SteveGaines I see... well all I can say is Jimmy Page has managed to captivate the world now for about 40 yrs and if you and the Nugent fans are correct in your assumption he is such a great artist and guitarist, I wonder why Martin Scorsce (sp) didn't make his recent documentary "It Might Get Loud" based upon Nugent's talent and not Page's? Personally, I used to like Nugent, but ya know....it is what it is and he's not much more than a bowhunter these days, or since Cat Scratch Fever
@prober45 i couldnt disagree with you more about ted nugent. i just saw him last month live and he ripped that guitar up it was the best show ive been too. he can still jam.
@prober45 Im a huge Page fan myself but if your trying to judge Ted by Martin Scorsce's choice to produce a film NOT based on Ted, dude......WTF?! Face it TED F*CKING ROCKS!
Anyone ever try to sing it like this on a big stage/venue out in front of a loud band? Good way to get your tail kicked. Never realized it wasn't Ted on the vocal - always thought he could do it when he was young. Misters Derek St. Holmes & Terrible Ted Nugent: my hat's off to both of you.
i was there in '76 with aerosmith. who is that guy on stag? tickets were nine bucks back then and a beer was $1.50. those were the go old days. still have my tickets
Ain't got time for kissin' I'm too busy messin' in this town All you pretty women, you're so far and in between I don't need no fancy types I need the ones that's clean Hey baby, jump into the back of my Ford I'm gonna give you a ride baby, you never could afford Hey baby
Hey baby SoFollow me down to my house baby, I'll show you the real love game.

As in the 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 Mile road in Detroit.. not "Follow me down to my house baby"
Just thought I'd mention that!!
