What people fail to understand is humans and spiders have an ancient code that predates any of us. The code clearly states that spiders shall live in peace unless they come into plain view of a human. As long as the human spots the spider wihtout actively looking for it, the spider broke the code and therefore needs to die. It's just the way it is.
