  • Before Hipsters there was Hippies, Before Hippies there was Cool Cats like Chet Baker.

  • The Master.

  • wankers

  • chillsound.

  • PS As Time Goes By" was written by Herman Hupfeld in 1931. It became most famous in 1942 when it was sung by the character Sam (Dooley Wilson) in the movie Casablanca. One of my favorite songs of all time.

  • Chet did not compose the song & while you call it "not in tune" I simply said he was "flat" and then only for a few bars here and there - NOT the entire song. Chet was a heroin addict, and it's a down drug and it tends to make singers "drag" sort of like if a DJ slows a record down with his finger - that's all this is. Chet otherwise had a GREAT ear, and sang on pitch, in tune. No hard feelings here either. All the best to you!

  • You need to get those ears fixed! I love Chet but he's flat.

  • @ManagerGuy1 now i listen it again i understand, this is not flat, but is not totally in tune...

he is such a genius and explore new color in his music by singing like that... maybe he is not totally in tune, but this piece makes me feel the music and the feelings that he had when he composed the song

    sorry for the misunderstood

cheers from a South american Musician

  • It's FLAT!

  • @ManagerGuy1 youre flat

  • My apology for spelling typos but I had my wife who ins a pro singer and who has perfect pitch listen and she assures me that he's flat as can be. Sorry to be a drag..

  • Way is this so "flat"? Chet had a great ear and never would sing off pitch like this Can;t you hear it? Please fix it as I love it otherwise. Many thanks!

  • @ManagerGuy1 i do not hear it flat

  • An excellent example of showing emotion, rhythmic development, technique, and a consistent sound all in the low low/mid register of the trumpet; which makes that short fragment into the upper reaches of the mid-register employing a much more "bell-tone" sound have such drama. A must solo to transcribe no matter what your age/technical level is on the trumpet. I' m working on it now. Michael Missiras
