  • I may cut you out of my photos but I cannot slice you out of my mind....

  • @metaspherz that's cause there's no her/him inside ur mind. It's only ur investment in her/him. Reinvest that mind in something useful and it's done.

  • I honestly think that this is the single greatest song I have ever heard.

  • This song, the refrain in relation to the vid give me the chills.

  • Steven Wilson is Great artist

  • @brothermanbill maybe thats the reason she wants to get "way out of here"

  • stunning live band I urge everyone to experience it!

  • I love this vid. Saw it @ the St. Louis, MO - U.S.A. show. ...still raises the hair on my arms!!

  • PORCUPINE TREE: want vids of little kids doing adult things? we got em!

  • @JakeThrashJudgement In fact... actual time's kids do adult things... from like twelve years (and even earlier) a lot of kids smoke, they fight, the fuck, they love and they do a lot of other stuff. So "we got em"?? They just want realistic videos.

  • This is good but i cant seem to get over sever

  • 3:28 always gives me goosebumps

  • Who's this girl in the movie? So beautiful.

  • Its very rare that a band does a video that actually fits the song.

  • This was the first video I saw from PT. I was hooked instantly! Great music.

  • Why does nobody complain about the fact that there is no complete version of this song on the net? I desperately miss something at 3:20...

  • @strababitus in fact it is cut at 3:28...

  • Atual!

  • thanks horney0donkey0, you truely set bad vibes on the comment's of such a positive song.. somethings are better off unsaid.. you will hopefully find some way to get over yourself.... Enjoy The Song, and Shut the Fu@k Up.

  • Classical, Jazz, Metal, and Prog. Before these you shall have no other idols.

  • It should be, bow down to your leader

  • Can't believe Steven is in his 40s.

  • People who are interested in psychedelic music, need your feedback and comments for my psychedelic music watch?v=a2be3Vv_ePk , for more music visit my website aymankhalifa(.)com , thanks guys

  • Porcupine Tree, Coldplay, Radiohead, Keane, Arcade Fire, Franz Ferdinand, The White Stripes, Muse, Portishead, Elbow, The National, Editors, Interpol,LCD Soundsytem

    Best bands right now

  • @gogolplex74 I haven't heard Interpol but given all the other bands you just listed, almost all in my toplist, I'm definitely going to start on them

  • @gogolplex74 Well i agree but there are better

  • @blackmanorigins I don't take metal fanbys and someone who supports Charles Manson seriously

  • @gogolplex74 Hehe and i dont like stupid fucking people who talk shit about other people even when they dont know them in person. And how fucking dare you call me a metal fanboy i am far from it.I never said i hate the bands that you wrote in your comment i listen to half of them. And i listen to a lot of majority when i comes to music from psy-trance to progressive rock to celtic music, new age,country,metal,post-metal,indie,acoustic and so on...So do your homework boy before you attack again.

  • @gogolplex74 There is nothing wrong with metal boy

  • @gogolplex74 YOu should try to listen to more music than just progressive rock even Steven said that he does not like people who only listen to progressive rock music...and + you will feel better and maybe stop beying so fucking angry all the time

  • @blackmanorigins Haha I don't listen only to prog rock

I listen to alternative rock, indie rock and pop too

  • @gogolplex74 hm and not metal well that is your choice after all

  • @gogolplex74 There is really nothing wrong with metal man...

  • @blackmanorigins Ok so could you give me a more qaccurate examples of better bands?

  • @gogolplex74 Sure,The Evpatoria Report,Isis,Sun Kil Moon,Riverside,Rishloo,Tool,This Will Destroy you,Mastodon,Oceansize,Rosetta and so on...

  • @blackmanorigins not real fan of any of them

    except maybe Tool

  • @gogolplex74 Than listen to them dont just ignore explore learn about new music

  • @gogolplex74 And you dont have the be a fan to like the band, half of the music i listen to i need a lot of time to really start loving it

  • weird ♦ short wersion ♦ huh..?

  • he has got a different genre ..far better than metallica or anyother...

  • Pfft I called my self a fan of prog and I'd never listened to Porcupine Tree. How stupid of me!

  • @Pulse535 Me too! Now, is all OK.

  • @Pulse535 I made the same mistake, and I regret it.

  • How old is this girl??? Damn, she looks like a baby!

  • lol, its funny cuz steve hates ipods to death.

  • this girl is Awesome!!!!incredible eyes!

  • does anyone know how old the guy whose singing this? I wanna like this but I hate when adults sing about desparity in their youth. it makes me feel like im never gonna be over fucking highschool.

  • @BlushingBull It's not necessarily about disparity in their youth.

  • @BlushingBull idiot

  • the girl can be 16 but also 12, does everyone know how old she is? :D

  • Fora de série!!!!

  • I think the fact that the actress was portrayed as an emo kid is perfectly appropriate. There's no denying that sadness pervades her image completely. I mean, in the parallel of a young girl losing someone that important to her, it's even more abundantly clear how an event like the suicide of a loved out can totally ruin a person... especially that young. The fact that she's a child emphasizes how suicide can render your outlook on life fragile and cold.

  • @pickle182 The song is not about suicide it is about a girl who died on one of those train tracks she got hit by a train, and porcupine tree wrote a song for her.It has nothing to do with suicide!!!

  • @blackmanorigins Have you listened to lyrics? The reference to dreaming of escape from a deep depression and the farcical elements of life? Even the last verse is a clear testament to the concept. Often when a person dies, the family has to sell their car for them. covering your tracks and selling it beforehand is a part of preparing to die.Depressed people don't often just wander out onto train tracks in the middle of nowhere just to grab some air, Just saying.

  • @pickle182 Well all the people say that she was out with her friend taking pictures, she loved to do that. But maybe you are right, but i dont care whats important to me is the music

  • @blackmanorigins Totally agreed, The composition of this piece is phenomenal. Steven Wilson is totally a genius, hands down :)

  • @pickle182 Yeah :) You know i live in a small city in sweden and i go to 9th grade, and i can say that i am the only one that likes great music in that town :) No other people that i know like what i like :( Its kinda hard you know when all the people listen to Lady Gaga and other meaningless music. And i tried to show it to people you know but they just wont accept it.With amazing bands like:ISIS,PT,TOOL,Blackfield,Rishloo,Neurosis i feel kinda alone out there :(

  • @blackmanorigins I grew up in Vetlanda, graduated from gymnasium 1982, moved the day after. You are proof that there is still intelligence in smaller citys.

Check out: King Crimson: Exiles, and Easy money

    Camel: Ice

Kaipa: Sist på plan. If you haven´t already.

  • @Matshoppahulle Thanks man that means a lot :) Yeah im a big fan of Crimsons.Kaipa is great too like the old sound that they make and the guys voice is amazing! Camel wow just wow that blowed me away i love that song i think im gona buy one of the cds! Thanks for the great music! And you should check out a guy called Mark Kozelek he was in an older band from the 90s called Red House Painters, and now he has a solo project called Sun Kil Moon you should listen to the song Blue Orchids by him.

  • @blackmanorigins Just heard Blue Orchids: Beautiful Thank you!

Check out Camel: Hymn to her, and Air born, Also

Would enjoy to get more tips from you.

The small group of people with our taste in music from school, we all had a great career

  • @Matshoppahull Glad you liked it,people think its to boring but i dont care :) Camel is getting better by the minute :) Sure man i can list bands for days just ask ;) I agree i am so glad that i can enjoy music on a much bigger level than most people.

Check out a band called Rosetta song The Determinism of Morality they are post-metal i am not sure you heard post music before,it is a mix of brutality with epic depth and melodies, the singer screams so you need time to like this music.

  • LasseHoile: "Hey, about that video for your song. I was thinking we could get some trains, and..."

StevenWilson: "Did you sayTrains? YES DO IT PLEASE!"

  • @BlueTravesty Steven Wilson actually loves trains. He explains that on the Insurgentes DVD.

  • @BlueTravesty

    StevenWilson: I like trains

  • @xrevolutionrocker Ahaha I was thinking the same thing.

  • I have a daughter of the same age and we fight often... after watchin this I just want to go and hug her and I promisse to everyone that I will never fight with her anymore...my eyes are full of tears and I feel strong pain in my chests..

  • @ALLNAMESAREALLREADYT And there's still time enough for you to write a comment on youtube..

  • Comment removed

  • Love it

  • Best band in their Genre, Thumps up.

  • @williamxcore they don't have a genre, they are their own entity

  • look at her chubby cheeks XD

  • 11 people need to be shown the 'way out of here'

  • Saw PT play this live in buffalo last summer .Damn best concert I've ever been to!!!!

  • the snare sounds diferent in the album right?

  • I like the the feeling in this video...

  • Haha, this is awesome. Stephen Wilson loves trains.

  • Sigh. He could have chosen a better actress. This girl is so much of emo stereotype

  • @BrillanteBunny thats the point

  • @BrillanteBunny That's kinda the point :P

  • @BrillanteBunny The girl looks just like the girl who died, the girl who this video and song were meant for..

  • @BrillanteBunny She looks like the girl that died. That's why he chose her.

  • such a great band

  • I saw them live a few months ago. They were playing this video on a projector behind them.

  • nice film work.

  • @07123me I know I own all 11 albums

  • I dont like that they chose an emo kid to convey the object of the song.

    But love this piece however

  • has anyone noticed at 2:15 it says Fear of a Blank Planet by Porcupine Tree

  • Il video è stupendo..amo i porcupine..

    Great song ,Great video

  • great song, beautiful girl in the video :)

  • One of greatest ProgRock bands nowdays!!!

  • @Killensuen Yeaah! But not only nowdays!I guess Porcupine Tree is on the same level like Lennon,Pink Floyd and all the other great no-mainstream artists!

  • @Killensuen

    you mean THE BEST :)

  • @Killensuen

    Are ;)

  • @Killensuen Holy shit! They aint the best?!? Wow, the only band that can kind of be at PTs level is Tool. lol

  • @Killensuen *greatest

  • good stuff :D

  • good song

  • So fucking sad

  • Marry me, Steven! :)

  • I think that the train scenes are filmed in Denmark.. The logo on the trains are from a danish company..

  • @dinmorerenwebbergril The guy who made it is danish. :)

  • @dofty Who is he ?

  • @dinmorerenwebbergril The guy who uploaded this video. :)

  • Hi Steven!

  • Also, it's hard to believe that this sad little girl is the same pinkhaired wildchild I've come to know her as.

  • Vi har gennemlevet værre.

  • This is a clever, impressive and overwhelming song.

    Need not say more.

  • Hej Lasse.

  • @LuiWallentin English please

  • @8crowsandcounting english isn`t he only fucking lenguage on earth

  • @illidankratos No, but we must speak english to understand each other.

Even though some people (like you) suck at english.

    It's the language of communication!

  • @8crowsandcounting

My Danish isn't the best, but LuiWallentin essentially said "Hey Lasse, I hope you know how amazing your visuals are for Porcupine Tree's music." Then goes on to say something about seeing them in Vega, how all the projections matched the setlist perfectly, and how it was a great experience. It then ends with "So, many many thanks to PT and you."

  • @illidankratos yeah but its the only one that everyone atleast knows a little of

  • @illidankratos

thats because it's the only one you know. fuck off

  • @illidankratos cazzo ciai ragione dio porco! tù està justo!

  • Such a deep track and vid suits so well..

  • se 3meres edo

  • @dimitriosrsj ta spasane! :)))))

  • First time hearing of this band...Holy shit this is AMAZING! Missed out on seeing them:(

  • Saw this live at Roskilde, truely amazing show!

  • this clip shows that all what you see on tv is far away from the reality

  • @direzza1 research the story . It's very sad, and a bit vague.

  • @Freenetnow which story?

  • @horny0donkey0 The story this song and video tells. It's easy to research - but I'm not sure anyone felt they came to an accurate conclusion. That's all I'll say - I'm not sure it's even appropriate here. -take care

  • @Freenetnow oh i didnt know this was about a real person?

  • @horny0donkey0 Arielle Daniel & Heather Bates

  • @Freenetnow damn, i just looked the story up. its so sad but im pretty sure they did on purpose

  • @horny0donkey0 talk about fucking ignorant

  • @jumpsstart wow, just because i dont know about some 2 teenagers getting run over by a train doesnt neccessarily mean im ignorant. stop acting so damn smart and get over yourself

  • @horny0donkey0 awwe, someone's awittle pissy today :)

  • @jumpsstart yes. now go finger yourself u silly bitch

  • @horny0donkey0 Well that isn't very nice. I was just making a comment on ignorance and that not only you but many people are like that. And you go and get all defensive. Why the need? You just need to calm your tits. And I'm sure many people would appreciate you in doing so :)

  • @jumpsstart calm my tits? how about u suck my dick? thats sounds like a better plan. dont go calling other people ignorant, you are the one thats judging people from youtube comments. thats not nice? oh pardon me for not respecting whiny cunts like yourself. u are the kind of bitches that belong in the kitchen.

  • @horny0donkey0 damn, you're hilarious. I think that you're majorly overreacting. And by saying that you were being ignorant doesn't mean that I'm judging you nor am I being ignorant myself. I made an observation about what you said about a video. There is no need for you go start bitching to me and getting all nasty. So just shut your fucking mouth and deal with the fact that I made a comment about you. Take whatever it is out of your ass and get over yourself. Take this as a wake up call.

  • @horny0donkey0 and the whole kitchen thing is sexist and just as ignorant as your first comment. so go fuck yourself :)

  • @jumpsstart its not sexist. u know why? because i dont think all women belong in the kitchen. just the ones like u, who go around on youtube looking for fights, calling people shit, treating guys like you treat your tampons because u think u are superior to them. yes, cunts like u. i bet u bully people at your school

  • @horny0donkey0 oh yeah totally. I'm the worst person ever. Because I"m the one who decided to get all bitchy. I totally wanted to start a fight. And everything that you say is right. But you see, I think you should watch your mouth and filter yourself because one day you are going to say something to the wrong person. I'm not affected by your bitchy remarks because I can handle myself. I'm going to say it again: GET OVER YOURSELF

  • @jumpsstart haha

  • @horny0donkey0 I don't know about you, but I'm done here. Good song.

  • Just saw them live Monday when they opened for Coheed they aren't that bad.

  • @Zombiebushi I was there too, in grand rapids. that was an awesome show, but they didnt really open for coheed. they were co-headlining.

  • they played his same clip whulle performing this song on their tour couple days oago

  • Niezmierzone bogactwo muzycznej wrażliwości.Jeżozwierze są nieosiągalni...

  • Yeah they were playing this clip in the background on the current tour

  • Amazing song! Really really good!

  • I love the refrain. I love the way he sings.

    PORCUPINE TREE FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @thepalmetto the individual song has no story unles you listen to the whole album but the story goes as, soon the whole planet will dull itself with drugs games music and fashion and will begin a "blank planet"...

  • the daughter of edward scissorhands

  • Still trying to figure out the message of the song. It sounds like it's maybe a teenager who is traumatized from a bad breakup or maybe a family issue and decides to run away from the problem. idk, just a thought...

  • she has two songs in her ipod, and shes listening to Fear of a Blank Planet. OLOOLL

  • The longer version of the video shown on the screen on live performances is even more mind blowing. The psychedelic middle part with the video of the girl waiting for a train to drive over her just blows my mind away. Seen it three times live and every time tears fill my eyes.

  • Une histoire si triste pour une si jolie fille .

  • i pink floyd col batterista figo
