I think it is unfair for you to state that the drainage problem is in All neighborhood yards. You may be disappointed, but I have lived here for 7 years and find my yard drains very well.

Unfortunately, The Villages has disappointed me. There is a drainage problem in all neighborhood yards. You see, the land was not properly designed and graded. When it rains, the overflow does not go to the sewer in the road.  The result is puddling which kills the sod. The bottom line is plan to spend an additional $3800 above your purchase price to repair this problem. The Villages recognizes the problem, but says the responsibility lies with the homeowner

@NancyandDolan well..anything man-made does have its flaws. Hopefully you will find a place that has as minimal flaws as possible.
