it's really surprising how good amplification without an actual amp has gotten over the years. I use amplitube 3 for my home playing and it sounds amazing imo
at 2:41, or any time in this video for that matter, are you just jamming? or are you playing actual songs? either way, i STILL can't get enough of this!!!
wow, that is gorgeous sounding! the neck looks like the usual Tele length tho, just the optics of the camera? boy, that's like the greatest tone i ever heard. lower pitch overall, but still allot of detail and no muddiness. so cool.
@telebasher - just want to be sure what i'm looking for here- this is a Telecaster
Subsonic model guitar, as opposed to a normal Tele with an aftermarket longer scale neck added? thanks for clarification, i definitely want to get this set-up. always liked guitar tuned down, more in what to me is the cello range, and this one with the maple neck is awesome.
Hi Jay, this is a Fender Subsonic Telecaster (now discontinued) it has a 27 inch scale and is tuned in this clip down a major 3rd to C. You can sometimes see Squire subsonic strats but this one is from the custom shop and is a much better guitar than the squires. I added the Seymour Duncan in the neck position.
I'm building a baritone tele (28 5/8" scale neck) and I see you the humbucker in the neck and the single coil in the bridge. Is that better for handling the lower ends and over all tightness in the tone, or can the single be in the neck and the hummer in the brige?
This Guitar is longer than a regular tele. 27 inches so it's 1 1/2 inches longer. You can tune a regular guitar lower but it gets tricky with intonation as you go lower than Db or so but it can be done.
Hi Thanks for checking my videos out. The Ethos is indeed a wonderful Pedal. I recorded this clip direct from the Ethos into my MBox Pro into Protools LE and filmed with the IMovie on my Mac. The Mic in the room was only for my voice. Take care
Thanks very much for doing a great sounding, jazz demo of the Ethos Overdrive in clean mode. I was already sold on the overdrive tones, but wasn't sure about the clean. You've put that to rest. Very nicely played!
You are a classy player mate. Is the body ash or alder? I'm thinking about buying a jaguar baritone. That thing rang like a bell. And a piano. Wondering how an ash tele baritone would sound against the alder jaguar baritone with the same pickups in it
Tim..you are the Tonemeister...and I would know... the bass on that low tuning is oh so sweet...

would sticking a Warmouth Baritone neck on a standard Tele work as well as this?
They are 28 5/8"
DrToneControl 2 months ago
@DrToneControl not sure that would have the same result since its a inch and 5/8th longer scale. might be worth a try, let me know how it goes.
telebasher 2 months ago
I'd kill a man for a wide-neck 1 7/8" subsonic Tele with the Tele radius (I hate anything above a 10" radius.)

just improvising on a little groove in A min on that part. The whole thing is just off the cuff improvisation. Thanks for watching, glad you like it.

Get the US Custom's 28 5/8" scale neck
don't the Warmoth!
Warmoths double expanding truss rod REALLY KILLS tone!

Can you make any guitar a baritone just by changing the strings, or do you need a longer neck than a typical guitar would have?
You're a great guitarist. Keep the videos coming.

Hi! Great video!
I'm very interessed by this wonderful pedal.
Could you explain the gear used for the recording? A soundcard? If yes, which one?
Congratulations for the videos!
