I thought I would tell you and other people watching this a great way to build the a brick dome heaps easier than you guys did. Simply build a dome shaped mound out of sand, then you can just lay normal bricks on top of that without the hassel of marking and cutting lots of angles. Once the mortar has gone off you shovel the sand out of the oven and your done (unless you want to render the outside).
very nice job enjoy your oven. i built one too and use it every weekend.

Interesting take on achieving the arch.. cut the arch into the face of the brick and lay the rest of the brick flat...
it does however expose the softer core of the brick to the flames...
