  • so much passion ♡ aspetta lo scrivo in italiano :D quanta passione!

  • an overflowing cauldron of passion.

  • da brividi

  • His voice is divine but his dedication to find his technique is a lesson for all singers. Never be satisfied until you have the answer for you. His interviews on working with Lauri Volpi are amazing. Thank you for posting this greatest artist and his gorgeous, powerful transporting voice.

  • Taken me awhile, but I think Corelli brought the best combination of power, passion, and technique of all the tenors. His phrasing was exquisite. I haven't heard a good enough recording of Caruso to compare.

  • the best tenor ever, near to great Lanza

  • He's a wonderful vocal teacher!

  • You beauty!

EAM/07

  • His voice has a splendid timbre. To me, this sounds a tad nasal but it fits the song perfectly for some reason. He sings from the chest, of course, but that little bit of nasal quality is perfect.

  • Extraordinary! Fabulous!

  • never mind is it b or c the whole interpretation is amazing, only comparing with great Lanza

  • you are right, that is high B

  • Such an underrated tenor...

  • @alvinkim47ENT I don’t think Corelli is underrated at all. He was and still remains one of the most renown and adored tenors ever.

  • He's the best singer ever. As far as I'm concerned, anyway

  • Corelli was and is the best singing heroic roles. for "O sole mio", Lanza and Pavarotti are better.

  • franco was abosultely superb..but sorry my opinion is he is a notch below caruso and lanza

  • BRAVO !!!! bellissssssima canzone.

  • Not only is he a fantastic singer, but he's probably one of the handsomest men ever. What a combo!

  • A MI ME GUSTA MUCHO FRANCO CORELLI...ES MI FAVORITO

  • it is not high C it is B :-)

  • Wow, what a gorgeous rendition of O Sole Mio

  • FRANCO CORELI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • corelli was a great tenor, but MARIO DEL MONACO is still the best tenor ever. go to Mario del Monaco concerto BBC and you can compare. Mario is above everybody.

  • @dayanvolpe There is no such thing as "BEST"

  • che Meraviglia !!

  • ¡¡Este si es un sole mio!!!!!!

  • i, like very much this tenor; the "colur" of his voice, the way he sings so sensitiv way.

  • Because of being Franco's student

Bocelli sing this with a high C too

Check his live in Tuscany in 1997

  • @tranxuannghia

    Yes This Is True

and when i heard it i laughed because how they both hit the high c!!

i read that corelli was his teacher!

  • @tranxuannghia Thats a lie, Corelli never teached Bocelli anything, at least not in person, maybe he listens a lot to corelli`s recordings...his teacher was luciano pavarotti...another great tenor in heaven :D. Greetings

  • @luiszaoo Sorry, but this is not true. Bocelli met Corelli several times, Corelli gave him lessons. They had been in touch by phone and in person until Corelli's death. Only close friends were allowed to visit Corelli at the hospital before his death and Bocelli was one of them.

  • @luiszaoo

Bocelli attended a master class taught by Corelli, but I would not say that he was a pupil of Corelli.

  • Listen also to Mario Lanza's "O sole mio". Both are top.

  • i think that corelli is a great tenor.

i did not hear him much before.

  • @shalomavner these recording will remind us in the years to come the true sound of a spinto tenor

  • More powerful than luciano pavarotti

  • splendid corelli, great tenor.

  • Franco Corelli is the best singer I have ever heard! Listen also to his version of "I te vurria vasa"! Splendid!

  • Wonderful, wonderful voice. Thing is, when true opera singers sing Neapolitan songs it kind of takes away the true meaning of the song. Anyone else get this? For me, Mario Lanza's version is the best

  • No comment he is and he will be the very best The High C or other does not mind me. Have a good time with him as I do

  • Hello, gorgeous!

  • the pitch pipe says its a B. And what does it matter we'll all never hear a tenor this great again in our life time. Such values and knowledge are dying away

  • O thank you so much Stefano that is so

beautiful never have I heard it sung better

    Bravo Ann in Canada

  • Corelli At His BEST!

  • Pava&Co GODS VOCAL!!!

  • As an opera singer I can appreciate the complexity of this song. Franco when I sing that high I think of you every time.

    What a legend!

  • One of the best tracks i've ever listened! Marvellous! His voice is just perfect: pitch, timing, sustain, vibrato, all at a simply divine level. Thank you for the video, instant favourite! Grandissimo Franco!!!!

  • GREAT I FIND HIS VOICE SOOO POWERFULL AND WARM seems PAVAROTI HAS MUCH OF HIS S T Y L E

    MAISTRO BRAVOOOO

  • the Greastest Tenor of all time no doubt!!

  • Amazing...the voice speaks for itself. There is no need to say anything more.

  • the best tenor ever

  • Only a very few singers dare this HIGH C

  • @huemai48 Un'interpretazione sublime =) However it's a B not a HiGH C XD

  • @huemai48

And rare tenor can sing such an explosive high C than Franco

  • @huemai48 it was only a "b".

  • @jgraif it's H, not B..

  • @astroNexx

H and B natural is the same tone. H is used rather than B natural in germany and scandinavian countries.

  • @astroNexx not in this country :P

  • @huemai48 high B not C in this song.

  • The song including a high C likes an aria, not a folk song.

  • Thank you for uploading this superb, amazing rendition of this song. What a high C at the end!

  • Yes, that was one hell of a high C!

  • Yes, spectacular high C. Except of course that it's a B. But still, spectacular!

  • You are wrong. The last note was a high C, not B.

  • It's slightly high, but there's not question it's a B. I checked it against my Seiko metronome. So there=)

  • I too have checked it, it's a C. Franco Ferraris (the conductor)said about this recording: "We were recording O sole mio...he had decided to go up..In fact, he shot out a high C-natural so brilliant that the cool professionals in the orchestra exploded in applause, irremediably spoiling the recording...Franco.. didn't take it badly ..He just limited himself to performing a series of high C-naturals, none of which, however, satisfied him completely. Anyhow, we ended up picking one."

  • It's a slightly sharp B.

  • this is absolutely no high C (its Bnatural), but so what, that last phrase made my day!!!

If you then go and listen to Bocellis attempt to copy, you will laugh about a week! Because side by side, its like Mr Beans Car next to a splendid Rolls Royce!

  • Listen to Di Stefano's version.

  • @Schrittwieser Exactly, Di Stefano is the best intepreter with Caruso of the Neapolitan song. However, I'm Neapolitan XD
