Once again an example of idiotic greed. Unless you're using this every day you'd have to be nuts to spend that much on one of these. If the makers weren't so greedy they would sell a lot more of these if they were to cut the price down to below $500 atleast. The fact that I've never EVER seen one on the road tells me everyone agrees with me.
The Handigate is going to drain your bank account $1400.00 I deal with ramps or i can buy a trailer at this price. You know these things dont even cost the company $140 to make what a mark up. Why dont you just use a gun to rob me.
will it hold a snowmobile? cause it dont look like it will since their is a big gap where the track would go... i guess i could make something to go their
Didn't Mythbusters run a disclaimer that the experiments on the show have no basis in science and that they cannot be held liable? I run a sled deck on my 3/4 ton, adding 300lbs to the truck & I get an extra 2 mpg with it rather than empty. Flat deck over the box & 70mph give 20mpg Duramax diesel. Figure that out Mythbusters.
they've got some hydralic lifts now that are pretty baller. Im not sure about the fuel economy stuff but theres a comp called lift all and toy rack that makes some cool stuff
@skanky87 i think it would because of the holes in the gate. when you traveling about 70mph put your hand out like you are doing a high 5. then close your fingers it becomes harder and put stress on your arm. its the same with the truck and this gate its less stress with the holes because of air flow
The mileage claims they pulled out of their ass. The air flow goes over the top of the tailgate because a cushion of turbulent air fills the bed. Mythbusters looked at wind tunnel tests and saw that. When you let that cushion out by lowering or putting holes in the tailgate it cause more turbulence and thus more drag. Any company that makes unsubstantiated claims is not worth doing business with.
well if you ever seen some one drag race a truck on the drag track they either have a cover on the bed or they remove the tail gate, so it has to do something.
The truck manufacturers use wind tunnels to get every last bit of mileage from their vehicles to increase sales. If there was any gain to fuel economy from having holes in tail gates the trucks would have them from the factory. They are basing this on scientific wind tunnel tests, not as they "high five out the window" or what the "myth is at the track" Please provide the scientific data on fuel economy gains with this product. Until some is provided this company is talking out of their ass.
Yes, I'd like to see the independent research that will back up their claims of increased fuel economy. Until I see it I can only assume they are trying to trick people into buying by making bogus claims.

Yes these are nice but, who would honestly spend $1,300+ for a pair of ramps that attach to your truck? You could buy two or three 12-18' flatbed trailers in near brand spanking new condition for that price.
It looks well designed and solid. I just dont get the application.
Can get sturdy, high quality ramps, that attach securely , for under $150. If you are loading and unloading something often enough that need to replace your tailgate with a ramp, why not use a trailer?
These things are $1349, which would buy a heck of a nice trailer
So for the same cash you can have; hook-up and go convenience; added capacity; added versatility. Or a ramp that turns opening your tailgate into a procedure.

is there a model that works for a sled?
YourFavoriteReviewer 1 year ago
@YourFavoriteReviewer The ramps push together so you can have 1 wide center ramp. I believe it is 40" wide. Not sure if that is wide enough?
mesmorex 8 months ago
@mesmorex probably not but maybe if you have a sled with adjustable front suspension stances

A trailer would be cheaper.

Still stupid AND no doubt expensive. Hitting the ramp at speed is a good way to flip the ATV backward and onto yourself... goodbye..yer dead!

Kinda cool. I with it looked a little better and didn't coast as much and I'd be a customer.
bisket2003 1 year ago

didnt mythbusters prove its better to have a solid tailgate? other than that it looks like a good idea...only change the price!
