  • Good vid. My top tip ,for ease and less mess, save honey packets from KFC. The planet won't thank you but it's easy and clean.

  • Great video! I'm definitely subscribing!

  • good Info again. Thanks

  • how do you repac it this way (vacuum it ?)

    greets!

  • nice vid

  • I like to cut the cooking instructions from the original container and put them in whatever I repackage into. If I have multiple re-packages, I just use copies. Thank you for these videos

  • Have you tried baking in an orange? cut top 3rd off orange , spoon out the orange eat it, mix your muffins, brownies, chocolate cake etc. , fill half way, put the top back on, put it on the fire, til done , orange will be black muffin will cook inside. thats how we do it in cubscouts, and no dishes to clean or carry. Will make a video soon.

  • That is an amazing idea. I almost never carry an orange, and often am in no fire zones, but the very next time I am out and can make a fire, I am doing this!

  • Excellent... I have 3 different v. old boy scout hand books... They are absolutely filled with info.. like that..

  • Blueberry muffins sound good. That with the oatmeal would make a perfect breakfast

  • What was cook time?

  • about 10 - 15 minutes

  • I should, I hear that they are great. I have very little experience with canister stoves. (3 or 4 hikes) I did the bulk of my hiking as a guide with white gas stoves. (primus multi-fuel, whisper lite, dragon-fly, and peak 1) I liked them for their resistance to cold and ability to cook for large groups, but now that I mostly go solo or with my wife, a simple alcohol stove suits me fine.

  • can u make a vid about what to ad to cus cus

  • Russell we are planning a hike to Bear Mt maybe race mt also not to sure but thinking about 2 week in march you In

  • Maybe, I am in the life stage where everything depends on our children's schedules... we shall see.

  • Just found your channel. Great idea, Makes me hungry.

  • Thanks alot Russell! I love your videos.

  • Cool Dude. Making muffins on the trail Great idea!!!!

  • nice on russ!

  • Never cooked them like this but I am going to have to try it. Taste on the trail is a must for me. Why not vary the food right?

  • i think you can use an ounce of fluid on the stove, put some rocks inside the pan, use a muffin mold or foil and put the mix in the foil, after the fuel burns the rocks keep the baking going.

    think about it

  • I have tried that before. Instead of bringing an extra pan or using muffin molds, I like bringing the tea-light instead. It takes less space, and it will cook a full package of muffins on one ounce of fuel. Your method makes much more sense if you are hiking with 2 or more people. (not everyone wants to share my muffin pancake) Using the muffin molds can be tricky, but they look much more appetizing when they are done. Thanks for the input.

  • great

  • Nice. Two days in a row of videos.

  • Great video as always. Thanks for showing that everything does not have to be bland and vacuum packed with loads of sodium, nor overly complicated.
