BEST Rock Band Period. Why is this Band not Touring right Now compared to all the SHIT thats out there? I cant figure it out for the Life of me....sigh..
My Uncle (Ronnie Cantrell) was the original bass player. I've got an original "Every Mother's Nightmare" shirt, just wore it yesterday as a matter of fact. They were a wee bit late. I have no doubt in my mind if they would have been a little sooner they would have been as big as Motley Crue, Tesla, Skid Row, etc. Long live true Rock N' Roll and I'm a 17 year old chick. Don't get any better than this. Rock on!
@csmpeoil Steve is a Harley Davidson Parts manager in St Louis and he is in a band called Bitter Pill that plays in several areas around St Louis Missouri.
I used to hang with these dudes. lots of good times at the practice shed on Bell Road.
I think I know 90% of the chicks in this video. On one level or another...
Rick, my brother, keep rockin'! The Perris stuff oughta be rippin up the charts. I admire your dedication and your perseverence. It's meant to be, dude. Do what you do!!!!!!!!
If you grew up in the mid to late eighties, grunge did to metal what disco did to hard rock in the seventies. It ruined everything. And brought the bar way down on the musicianship scale. Just take a look around.
You can hear the changing of the guard in this song...they were borderline thrash with the guitar tone and double-kick. I liked them. I saw EMN with Jackyl in Nashville @ 328 Performance Hall, when they were at their peak. I guess "Love Can Make You Blind" was their biggest hit, and grunge came along soon after.
The memory really came back about the fire and I clearly remember it was exactly 1 or 2 nights before Thanksgiving '95 @ 3 or 4 in the morning, was freezing in Memphis then and later determined the space heaters running upsairs started the fire in the wiring (MFuckuh) but thank God those guys (Son of Slam) weren't hurt, they were alright dudes as well and used to come down to watch us practice. I got down there just before light & they were all standing around w/a blanket or 2 lookin' PITIFUL!!!
Later in '95 they had stored alot of road equipment in Son Of Slam's space right above my own band's print shop space just before heading on the road. There was a fire the night before Easter '95, destorying 3 bands worth of shit, including my own! Not to blame, but it started upstairs where Slam was not supposed to be living. Our band leader got all our stuff replaced, but unfortunately for the others they had no insurance. Tough Break for all involved!!! R.I.P. 1974 Marshall half stack
I'm from Memphis and knew thse dudes well. The bass player was only 15 in about '90 when they were getting popular locally, then got that 1 CD or so record deal. The oldest was only 19 wehn they signed. They were actually very down-to-earth and not stuck-up but man did they do up ALOT of chicks and blow!!
@MelindaPSL333 Steve is In Mo and is a parts manager at a Harley Davidson Store. Mark was fired out of the band after the second album. Rick and Jim went on with replacement players and recorded 3-4 more albums under the name "Every Mother's Nightmare", but never really busted out of the club scene.
@wiggmaster66 LOL Mark was not 15,, he looked like he was but he graduated High School in 89. Rick at the time was the oldest I think he was 21. Jim was about 20 and Steve was 19
@wiggmaster66 im from memphis as well. spent lots of nights at rascals, night moves, and stage stop!!!!! saw EMN, tora tora, disturbance, son of slam, black 59s, and several other bands regularly. good times. Im sure at some point we ran into each other.
damn this reminds me back to my hair metal days.........ALL my gfs thought this song was hot and though im DEFINITELY not a homo those guys were badass! Hairmetal needs to make a return because theres only so much Shinedown I can take lol
For some reason these guys remind me of a combination of Motley Crue and Skid Row, this band seriously kicks ass! Wish they would've gotten greater success
I was at a friends Bday party here in Nashville Sat night for Hair Metal Henry and Eric Brittingham (from Cinderella). Jimmy Phipps ( EMN drummer) showed up to kick it

Great song, what a total shame that the grunge took the spotlight away from these guys and so many other great hair bands, the hair metal era was the last great era of rock 'n roll IMO
my brother is a major fan of grunge or modern music and alot of times whenever we're in his car I have to listen to that shit! I would rather stick with hairmetal anyday
Grundge happened to these guys and all the other bands like them. These guys deserved a better run at success then what they got. Poor label management, and crappy marketing
Fuckin Awesome..........
