Watch the movie a Hard Days Night again and the Dave Clark 5 are in it. When the girl on the train at the beginning of the movie is holding a magazine. It is a Fabulous Magazine and The Dave Clark 5 are on the cover of that magazine. The girl holding that magazine became George Harrisons' wife.

@CANARVONKID So you've pointed out. So often--on the many DC5 postings on YT. Francoise Hardy, a very prolific young French singer/songwriter of the same era, chose not to sing her songs live. That doesn't make her any less of a genius, musically. Anyone who's ever heard the countless rock musicians who manage to butcher their own songs live (including McCartney), knows how overrated a live performance of a recorded hit can be.

My gripe is that no matter where you choose to look, you will NEVER find any videos of them playing "Live".

This has been Dave Clarks doing, as he has made sure none will ever get to be shown, which is a big shame.

They could never duplicate their studio sound on stage, as they would use every trick in the book to produce that wall of sound, which was in fact before Phil Spector!!

@CANARVONKID In 1964 they were a Beatles knock-off. In 65 they had some relevance. But they were not even close pretenders to the throne. Yyou make a great point about their stage presence. Where you never see DC5 live, with the Beatles, some of their greatest iconic performances were live. And I'm not talking about just Shea. From Ed Sullivan to the rooftops of England the Beatles brought music to us, the people. DC5 in a can is all you ever got. Served up by a manager and a producer

@MrArnold1972 you obviously were not alive when the beatles were famous. I have never been to a movie (Hard days night) where people were standing and cheering and yelling during the movie. Beatlemania was incredible, from the US to other parts of the world, the beatles made their influence. My wife is from Japan and the beatles were just as famous there as they were in England and the US. Her brother has all their albums. In my life I have never seen such hysteria.

Lady GaGa and Eminem were influeced by crap like Madonns and "rap artists" who have such a lack of musical talent that they have to "sample" music by real musicians. What innovations do I mean? The Beatles were the first band to write most of their own songs and play their own instruments on their recordings They were incredible songwriters. And they were respected by musicians from jazz to classical (Leonard Bernstein was a huge fan)
