  • It was still the best public affairs show ever produced on commercial television. Jim Waley was a real pro. You could never get a fix on his political views.

  • This is youtube gold, BigDon, thanks for uploading!

  • hey i agree it's a bad thing.

but free to air television is only on air because of advertising. the more people who watch the show, the higher their ratings the more people advertise with them. ergo, stations need to update that format to whatever is popular with the people - regardless of 'journalism quality'.

once again, it is a shame.

    (this is widerangledotcom, btw)

  • Graham: How did you break your wrist?

Laurie: I was inspecting a National Park, thought I would see you there.

    AHAHAHAHAHA!

    Quick as a flash!

  • haha! i can't believe what theyre talking about!

  • Man check out the hair boof on richo. Were we really like that in '89?

  • I was born that exact day.

  • Richo is a fuckwit

  • I agree wholeheartedly. Jim was boned by nine & it seems the viewers are boning them !

Got a few more of him & might post sometime. Glad you liked this one.

  • Great clip,thanks for sharing

  • fantastic clip - thanks Big Don

  • jim waley, what a pro, regaining composure to go back on air and throw it to oakes without missing a beat.

  • Yes it's interesting what has happened over at Nine since they boned that man ! Jim Waley was a top news man & Nine should feel ashamed !

  • And now Sunday and The Bulletin have gone too... two of Kerry Packer's favorites gone in one year.

  • while it is sad that these shows have gone, stations do have to change with the times.

  • Well you know what they say....The Hand That Rocks the Cradle Rules The World. One hopes Laurie's broken wrist is fully functional for Election 2007 ! Lol.

  • laurie Oaks 'no thats my other hand' hilarious!

  • Yes thought so too...would love to see footage of him when he managed The Ramrods....does anyone have such a rarity ?

  • it's interesting to see a time in australian parliment before John Howard was prime minister, sinse he's been in that position sinse 1996
