Mac I owe everything to you I wouldn't even write songs if it wasn't for you, You started it all for me. I tell everyone about you and how you were the inspiration for my songwriting. If there was anyone I would love to meet on this earth it would be you. I owe everything to you. I'm Brody McCain you started it all for me. Brody McCain.
This song, "I believe in Music" is a classic and legendary song that still stands the test of time. Mac Davis is a gifted singer, songwriter who blessed the world with this song. Thank you, Mac!
I have always been a fan! I also really respect the song, "In the Ghetto" and I'm so happy that Mac Davis wrote it and Elvis Presley recorded it. I am Elvis's biggest fan for his Gospel, R & B, and Rock 'n Roll Music! Long Live the Music from King of Rock 'n Roll, Elvis! Debra Zeman (Chicago)
One of the things that is nice about this one is the shot of the stage from behind Statler and Waldorf, and the fact that they seem to enjoy singing along with Mac. I kind of find it silly to get all the Beakers in there, since throughout the episode there were only 8. By the end, there were at least double that.
@MichaelBrookham BTW, this is the only episode of The Muppet Show to feature a view of the stage from Statler & Waldorf's box. And in fact, Beaker and Statler & Waldorf would have to be my favorite Muppet characters.
I was just a in elementary school when this song came out. At some point in my lifetime, melodies disappeared from popular music. Sad. Fun little song; thanks for posting!
Yeah, even though Rowlf is playing the piano, the band is still techically called The Electric Mayhem, and it's the same guy that does the voice of Doctor Teeth that's providing the voice for Rowlf as well.
Mac Davis, what else is there to say? Well for starters he was a songwriter by trade and then fortunate for us turned to singing. He wrote a few big hits for Elvis which may be his proudest moments. This song here was recorded by Mac and later covered by the group Gallery in 1972 that would reach the number 22 spot on the billboard charts. Oh yeah, he would turn to acting. What a fabulous career!!
Check out your local Video or DVD store they will have all the lost shows of the Muppet Show. I really love those Muppet's We all are Muppet's some way!!
I can't hear most of Mac Davis' songs without singing along, I am the same way with a lot of John Denver's Songs. Of course I sound a lot older than I am when I say that back then songs meant something... But it is true none the less.

You know this guy was big but I think he should have been one of the super stars of music. Can't figure out what held him back.
