@9unarguable7 Actually, I lie - there's a breakbeat section too at 3:21. If it's at the same tempo as hip hop and uses a funk rhythm, it's usually synonymous with hip hop/breakbeat ;)
@9unarguable7 Nah, there's no dubstep here. I dislike categorizing music at times as much as anyone, but if we're gonna do it, we might as well be systematic and do it in a way that makes sense.
The rhythm of this track tells you it's 100% dnb - it's identical to older funk drum break rhythms jungle artists would sample and which were cut up, rearranged and sped up. See "Amen Break" for the most infamous one of all. Notice the use of accented snare hits (and ghost snare hits) on half beats.
O my f GOD this is the best one by noisia. and one of the best DnB/Neurofunk(whatever) songs at all! This song doesnt sound plastic like so many other DnB tracks, it just sounds "real". However i prefer the version with krs one.
I'm gonna give you guys a tip, listen to the tempo to figure out a genre. And don't let these self righteous dickwads tell you, "but buttt, it's all music". That's what humans do, we categorize everything, that's part of what makes us what we are.
@9unarguable7 Are you trying to say this is dubstep? You gotta be fucking kidding me. Its Drum and Bass mate, the fact that this has a wobble in it doesn't instantly make it dubstep, besides the tempo is completely different.
To be fair, the line between dubstep and DnB is getting so blurred with all this new DnB-inspired dubstep, it gets easy to see how one might confuse the latter for the former. The slow part could easily be "mistaken" for dubstep.

@SolicioA "Dubstep? Breakbeat? Noisia is Dnb with everything, whatever u try to persuade"
Not true, their remix of the Prodigy's "The Omen" is breakbeat with a dubstep breakdown ;) Noisia make loads of house and breaks too.

@TheRaweed maybe im just a newb, but it kinda sounds almost like its more breakbeat than dubstep. definitely a little of both though
iwasborn4dying 1 year ago
@iwasborn4dying I disagree. Breakbeat sounds almost completely different, only the bassline sounds quite like breakbeat. It's dubstep, no doubt.

@TWHLWCD Not really imo, if you've listened to both DnB and Dubstep for more than a month it's easy to tell the difference.
