  • i have the same problem :(

  • Im Another Victim!

I just turn 22 i found out about 5 years ago. Ive Been wearing contacts ever sine then.

I Cant Wait untill we can all get surgery or laser in the future. Just waiting on the technology to advance. I lost one contact and dont have extras, now i have to wait about a month for my appointment with the doctor and for my new contacts to arrive. so im on house arrest. lol i cant drive with out them i see very blurry.

  • hi carolyn

I have the same thing, I am 48 (born 1963) I was 14 when diagnosticated, I have wear rigid contacts ever since (1976-77) dont worry you will be just fine, just get used to the idea you wont see 100%. back then was no other option than cornea transplant, now there are intacts and recently new lensed kind of combination of rigid and soft with the benefit of better vision and less scratching (damage) to your cornea.. I have not try them yet but I will soon. to "see" how it works

  • Hi Carolyn! I have keratoconus as well and found out about it a few years ago. I am 29 and have gotten to the point where I need the GP lenses. I'm nervous but also excited that I will finally be able to see clearly! I will let you know what they're like. Thanks for explaining things in "hu,

  • you can get an operation called cross-linking and then 6 months after the operation you can get lasik and enjoy sharp vision once more

  • cool i had keratocnus since i was 12 and its really bad and i i knew what your going thought its life changing i know its hared to live with but talk to you eye doctor and talk about a hybrid contack lence it really helps

  • @p99glock i had keratoconus since i was 12 and its full blown sinc i was 14 and i feel ur pain have you ever tryed a hard soft cantact leans hybrid it really help

  • yeah, ive had it for years too. i had rigid lenses, but theywere so damn annoying. ive worn the kerasoft lenses since 2004, and they are great for comfort and sight, though for some, the sight is not a good as with hard lenses.

Im on the verge of having to go back to hard lenses, but im going to try the kerasoft IC rane as im currently ussing kerasoft 2 ones. The hybrid lenses seem to be quite new, so i have to check and see if they ar available in the uk. proper annoying having this condition

  • I was diagnosed with Keratoconus at the age of 17, at 18 my eyesight was at least 6x as blury as what they showed in this video. I had cross linking done here in Germany when the procedure just came out, I was one of the first 1000 to get this done. Even though it didn't correct my vision it stopped the Keratoconus disease. I'm now 23 and have been wearing hard contact lenses for about 3 1/2 years, they do bug the shit out of me but get my vision back up to 70-80%.

    CROSS-LINKING RECOMMENDED!!!

  • I found that out too!! when I went to go and get Ilasik. Damn disease

  • i have this problem and i have to wear rigid contact lenses i cannot see without them. they are painful when you wear them it feels like if you have a rock in your eye or something.. and also they get lost easy and i have to pay about 180 dolars for each contact. i already los them about 3 times. follow your doctors advise protect your eyes. my right eye is very bad and ia am 20 years old. with the contacts i see 20 20 but without them i cant even read the signs in the freeway.

  • i enjoyed your video,i also have kc,and i hate it,i can't drive at night,i can't enjoy television, because my eyes hurt so much,i try to wear my contact lens, but it starts hurting really bad after about 3 hours.but it helps knowing others are going thru the same thing. ps i love yout fat cat

  • I was diagnosed with KC 22 years ago. Before anyone has transplant surgery, explore all options including hybrid lenses, SoftPerm (no longer available), Synergeyes KC and Synergeyes ClearKone. Scleral lenses are effective if the fit is good. Some people are getting CR-3 therapy to stop the progression, but clinical trials are still in progress, so you might want to hold off until more data is collected. Intacts (corneal implants) are also somewhat new, and results are mixed.

  • Im 18 yrs old and i was diagnosed with this disease right after my 16th birthday, and the disease was pretty severe already.for the past few years i have been wearing the hard lense contacts, and im not gonna lie, they can really be a hassle sometimes. I've lost one or the other on many occasions and had to replace them and they are NOT cheap. and one time one of them actually cracked in half while in my eye! My cornias have scarring on them and i am currently looking for alternative treatments.

  • @mariahaflow10 I know what u're going through I had those stupid hard lenses they're very impractical I finally had ferrara rings implanted in my corneas and my vision is perfect now. The procedure cost me only $4000 and it was very quick too

by the way I didn't do it in the states

  • I just found out I have KC which disqualified me from joining the military. I never even knew i had vision problems but with all the research I have done all day appreantly doctor boxer wachler does a procedure called C3R Which in most cases reverses the KC

  • Anyone with kc needs to see the top doctor on kc in Beverly Hills Dr Brain Boxer Wachler. He stoped my kc progression with the Holcomb C3-R and is the only one in the states doing this. I will be going back to get the Visian ICL and be getting 20/20 vision and now have 20/500 in left and 20/300 in right.

  • i have KC im going to try the hybrid lenses.

  • anyone with kc needs to see Dr Brain Boxer Wachler in beverly hills. He stop my kc progression with the holcomb c3-r and is the only one in the states that is doing this right know. I will also be going back to get the visian icl done and be close to 20/20.

  • @streetlunatic008 I have KC 15 years, and from the start I use hybrid lenses. That is just the same as hard lenses. I'll go tomorrow on Laser Focus clinic to see is there hope for me about wearing soft lenses. Keratoplastic surgery isn't good enough for us, couse in 99% our eyes will be red. Nobody knows the cause of disease, and that is the scariest thing.

  • i have this also my left eye is pretty bad and my right one is gettin there but my doctor doesnt want to prescribe wtv those contacts are called cuz she thinks it might worsen my condition she basically told me i had to use to seeing double and to stop rubbing my eyes cuz its prob what caused it.

  • i have this disease too. but i already fix it.

i got this surgery like 4 yrs ago.. and i kinda

have ths same story. i did nee tha laser .

and i dosen's hurt at all.

  • To bad you cant get lasik...i got K/C as well hopefully yours is not that bad...i had it since 17 ...im now 26...doin optometry :D...so dont let this condition push you around...only about 10% of patients need surgury... the rest CAN be managed with RGP's (if they can wear Contact lenses that is)...until something better comes out to treat it...goodluck guys!!!

  • lucky., im 19 and i kant see., the night halos keep me from driving at night and im not allowed to drive but im not letn it stop me., it srtarted wen i was 14., if ypu were to stand 7 feet away 4m me i wouldnt tell if your eyes are open or shut., i tried the contacts but theyr hellz thick., pain in the ass to get out., they were 600 and i only used them for 3days., no refund.

  • @SKI7Z101 I got the contacts, but mine were $1200....I lost one of them, it fell outta my eye while i was at school, and I could'nt find it! I was so upset that I cried, it was like I had a solution and then it was gone. Im going to replace the contacts but I am so sick of this condition!

  • yeah i have the same condition for the past 2 years, but it hasn't stopped me from making music even though it can be hard to read the lyrics when I'm recording at times.....don't let this condition get you down! check my page for proof I'm still doing what I love :)

  • yeah I have keratoconus....glad to actually SEE someone else rather than just read forums with other ppl's responses about it. I'm been wearing RGP's for the past 2 years but am going to a specialist in a few days... hopefully to get something different.

  • i hav the same problem ive been diagnosed when i was 17 and its growing

  • I had keratoconus, just came back from Colombia I got cross-linking done AND lasik in the same surgery. Anyways the doctor I went to is the best doctor in the world, doctors from US, Europe etc go to HIM to learn. Dr. Luis Antonio Ruiz from Centro Oftafmologico Colombiano in Bogota. I went there because he's excellent and because both my parents got their lasik there. PLUS it's half the price you'd pay here in the US (dollars are worth double there) now I have AWSOME eyesight, HA!

  • I am 34 male Canada, I have keratoconus. My right eye is worse than the left. I was diagnosed with it 5 years ago...I hope it won't get worse. I am seeing a specialist in Vancouver, BC Canada soon to find out about a procedure to control this condition.

  • i was just diagnosed with this. and to be quit honest im completely scared. any words of wisdon would help?!!

  • it can be treated look up london school of opthalmology

  • hi, it depends on the person...it usually develops until your early thirties than it stops...

  • Hi. My brother in-law has this disease and its so severe he has to have surgery within 2 years for a corneal transplant (and not to scare you but your eyes can actually burst from coning so much) and he has to have special contacts. Its so bad without his contacts he has to put things like a cell phone, newspaper, or even get close to the tv to see whats going on. he was diagnosed when he was 21 and he is now 23. Thank you for posting a video about this.

  • there are intacs too i havent tried them yet but i ll go with the hard lens first ..

  • You should get Corneal Cross-Linking done, it halts the progression of Keratoconus and sometimes reverses it a little bit. Look it up and ask your doc about it.

  • i've got the same problem i actually felt kinda down because not even lasik surgery was able to solve my proble., i'm don't see anything either wearing glasses or not wish you good luck it looks that you aren't as bad as me haha

  • I have the same problem with my eyes and I know what you feel. Greetings for you.

  • hey i am really bad i have just had the cross linking surgery done in my right eye and in my left eye i have to have a corna transplant X wish u luck
