(1) If the torque spring is poor quality will it allow the belt to slip in the rear pulley?
(2) Does lighter rollers in the variators mean lower take off RPM or vice versa...?
(3) I am having trouble with the arm springs wearing a hole in the shoes... is this a crappy alloy problem or should i be looking for the problem elsewhere...?
(3) The metal used in most clutches is very soft. It could also be that your clutch is slipping a lot and causing it to heat up which will make it easier for the springs to booger up the arm holes. You can either, take it a little easier on the quick jump starts and steep hills or get a better built clutch. Our shorty clutch is rebuildable with new arms, pads and springs if you wear it out a lot.
Im having problems with my scooter, it is either bogging down hard, or completely stalling as im riding. This has happened about 3 or 4 times in the last 1000km. It feels more like something is jaming up the engine, rather then a feul problem. Is there anything in the CVT transmission that can cause this problem?
Please help me to understand how the driven clutch works...!
Does the thrust spring just keep pressure on the pulley so it grabs the belt properly or does it do more?
How do the shoes expand to grab the clutch bell? Just by centrifigal force or by pressure from pulley/thrust spring?
I have a problem with the springs wearing a hole in the shoes where they sit it and thus destroying the whole clutch.. is this just bad quality alloy or something else?
The main torque spring controls how quickly your rear pulley opens and closes. This affects your time from stopped to top speed and back down again. The stiffer the spring, the more force (RPM's) it takes to open the pulley. As your belt rides down into your rear pulley, you go faster towards top speed. The longer you keep the belt riding high on the rear pulley (outer edge), the more rpm's you'll have at takeoff. The arm springs control what rpm the clutch engages at.
hey i accidently put a larger belt 842 and it was supposed to be 835, i drove once and noticed not much grab at takeoff, have i caused any damage? waiting on new belt now. Thanks in advance
Great video and website!!! I live in the new jersey area and its very hard to find people who share my one of my passion's. I will be checking these parts for wear. I bought a Hammerhead 200ir for my Girlfriend so i can ride my Raptor in peace. And lets just say she has not been nice to it,lol. TYVM for your video's.
LMAO! That goofy kid finally hit Puberty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thankyou, I have 3 more questions....

(2) Does lighter rollers in the variators mean lower take off RPM or vice versa...?
(3) I am having trouble with the arm springs wearing a hole in the shoes... is this a crappy alloy problem or should i be looking for the problem elsewhere...?
Thankyou for your time...

@zoukeira1981
No, only damage would be to the belt but it won't hurt anything in your CVT. Get the right belt on there and you'll be fine.

The drive belt does wobble at certain speeds and as long as it is not hitting the inside of your CVT cover and shredding belts, you will be OK.
If it is damaging your belt, chances are, your belt is stretched and should replace it.
