I'm not the biggest U-M fan by any means, but I will admit that U-M has probably the best tradition and history of any football program. This is a great video with some great music sung by U-M men in the way it was meant to be sung - especially with the complete version of "The Victors."
That was friggin' sweet! Was that the last time Michigan beat Ohio State? Sure seems that long! ;-) I keeed... I keed.. I can't wait to show this to my U of M alumna wife... she'll love it!
Holy shit bat man, I never saw this before, and my son who said he know everything about MI said the same, and thers were no tv back then, Hum the nintendo generation,
This was the dedication game, not the first game in the stadium. It looks so strange to see the stadium surrounded by open fields. Wolverine Historian, where do you get all these great films? Thank you so much for sharing them!
God, that's incredible! You can't deny the tradition of Michigan Football. 87,000 fans in the stadium in 1927! It looked like they were taking aerial shots of the stadium from a World War I era by-plane. It would have been cool to live during that time, and see that, for sure!
Hey, I respect Ohio State's program right now, you guys have been doing well for the last 7 years or so. But you can't deny the tradition of that awesome stadium. 87,000 fans in the stadium in 1927! Most NFL teams don't get 87,000 fans for games today. TV hadn't even been invented yet, still 10 years away in 1927, and they were still packing almost 90,000 into the Big House.
I know. Didn't it look like they were taking aerial shots of the stadium from a World War I era by-plane? 87,000 fans in 1927. Think about that. It's pretty cool.
looks like it must've been hard to hold the camera and pilot the plane at the same time. the guy was probably a pro from hollywood, cause at the time you couldn't just attach a camera to a plane.
that run at the end looked like Fran Tarkenton or something he wouldn't go down

This win in 1927 was the sixth in a row over OSU. How times have changed recently. Let's turn it around beginning in 2009! Go Rich Rod! GO BLUE!

Hmmm I dont detect the wing on the helmet! How can this be Michigan? I thought that was a feature since the Mayflower. ???
FiddlePig 2 years ago
It would be another 11 years before the winged helmet made it's debut on the Michigan helmets in 1938.

well it is 1927 only 9 years after the end of WWI...so those planes would have still been in vogue at that time
