The fabric cable bends a lot at the jack and it's just a matter of time before the cable loses its connection, however, lifetime warranty takes care of that.
At the risk of sounding shallow, I gotta say im not a huge fan of the looks of these things. Don't get me wrong I love sound quality and it's the most important thing but if im going to be wearing something out in the open I want it to look cool, shallow a lil but would you guys go the ball in your gym gear?
Are they suppose to be like flickering? Like in normal headphones the pads are stable and still but on my koss they are moving. Is it right? Is it a function who helps them more adjustable for your ears and to sit tighter? Or anything broken?
would these be good for use with a home stereo? i keep hearing about how great they are for portable music, all i want is to listen to cds and vinyl through a stereo
@UnchainTheNight1 Yes. As stated in the video, they have great sound quality, and they plug into both an iPod/MP3 Player and a home audio/stereo system.
lifetime warranty? pfff, that warranty only cowers the sound-elements and not the cable wich is the part that always get broken, and the cable on these a WEAK i tell u!
I'd been reading about Koss PortaPro from reviewers on the net...I needed a "I don't give a rat's @ss about what happens to my headphones" kind of headphones because I needed them to run/jog outside. Went to a local store, tried them out and FREAKED at how they compared to a few of the other sub-$200 headphones they sold (Sony, AKG, Grado, Sennheiser). For the price, the Portapros sounded JUST AS CLEAR and even CLEARER, MORE BASS, GREAT spatial sound, much more comfortable than the sub $200.
@kooslap ... ran out of space :) I would really recommend the PortaPros...it has easily became my favorite low cost headphones. I could wear it for hours without feeling any kind of hurting pressure on my ears thanks to the extra set of foam strips just above the ears. The headphones are also foldable (they collapse for easier transport in a small pouch that comes with it too). It also has a lifetime warranty. Definitely worth buying for the price and quality of sound you get.
ok and now I get no sound from right or left headphone so what's wrong now? I hear sound if I move the cable around but I need to hold it still or the sound stops working
First introduced in 1984, this high quality portable stereophone set performance and comfort standards for personal headphones
i have worn these since 1988 if they break i send them back get a free pair just shipping lifetime warranty these evout Porta Pro are awsome i have sat on computers for 9 hrs at work with them on try that with buds>>>not and the base rocks 15 hz
you can cause for example skullcandy some of them go from 100hz and upwards and they hurt while listening cause theres nearly no bass and so much treble..
skull candies are an exception since they are so shitty. Did you know that most subwoofers have a frequency responce of 30 hz and up? With your logic, the koss porta pros can deliver much more bass than a freaking subwoofer. Get a grip, there is much more to making headphones than lowering the frequency response. Besides, no human being can hear frequencies below 20 Hz, so that "OMG 15Hz!!!" bullshit has no meaning.
The Porta-Pros sound much better than the PX100. People say the Porta-Pro's are too bassy, but they are very clear throughout, meanwhile the PX100's are way to emphasized in the highs.
The Porta-Pros really do just sound better throughout.
Of course, the PX100's are more comfortable to some people, who don't like the metal band of the Porta-Pros.
Having both, I find the Porta-Pros more comfortable despite the metal band, and the sound quality is much better, hands down.
HA HA HA HA HA! "No matter how gigantic your mellon might be!"
Great line....The Koss Pro porta design hasn't changed in over 20 years so thats why they look old. The video I believe is quite recent.
They are equal in quality to the Sennheiser px100. The Koss produces a little more bass though apparently. However, the PX100s are more compact in a hard case when folded.
I will be getting a pair of Koss headphones though. I quite like the retro look.
who hired this idiot?

They usually last 2-8 weeks with use every day.

You can't measure the bass performance of headphones by how low the frequency response is, retard.
