This reminds me of "Grape Escape". It was bad enough getting the right amount of molding dough in the mold to get the figures to play the actual game, so the game couldn't start unless you had the patience to make the player pieces. If you didn't make the grape characters properly, the dough hardened, and you were stuck with deformed grapes for playing pieces. Good times.
