I like the flip video quality better, i don't care what others say-

get a male to female USB converter if you dont want to plug it into your comp directly and put that (heavy lol) strain on your POS!

Or if you are computer illiterate then you might not be able to get the files in whatever media editing software you have.

the image stabilization is better on the flip hands down- and to anyone who is not just filming themselves in a bedroom needs this.

@RatedDan secret with the flip camcorders.. you can take a video and take snap shots of the video turning them into pictures.. just takes more effort.

How fast is your processor??? It runs fine with my dual core Intel PC...no lag but for any HD video editing you want a more powerful processing power. Love my Flip...doing the wide angle mod at the moment. Whoever said they can't use the video file with anything other than a moviemaker needs to do a better research; better yet stick with a cheap non-HD camcorder.

Dude I bought the Kodak and it is awesome. Compatible with both my iMac and my Windows PC. All I had to do is plug it on the USB port and boom!...Everything works. Windows 7 can read .MOV files now by default so it works like a charm.

Dude, I have Athlonx2 AMD64 dual core and run XP pro. I import video from the Flip Ultra HD into Sony Vegas Pro 9.0 with no problem. No extra programs, NO PROBLEMS!!! I don't know what you are talking about. Maybe it's your Vista OS?

to be completely honest with you i would suggest the Kodak Zi8 it has more features is more user friendly and can be easily upgraded with various items such as an external mic and expanded memory and it is better in every way over the Flip UltraHD camera i had the flip myself and i took it back i have other gear now besides the Kodak Zi8 but the Kodak is a great product and i highly recommend you get that one if you have a choice.. just search for reviews on here of the Zi8

Now although the flip is WAY not as good and doestn have ANY of the features Kodak has, I will speak up for flip, this may be a problem with ur hookup.  Mine works with imovie, Final Cut Express, Final Cut Pro, and any other editing program I have tried, what program are u using?

If you look at this vid from the flip u see the quality is 720p, lookin at the Ti8 the quality is 1080p, plus zi8 is cheaper and can take stills. Therefore the Zi8 is better (but i still like my flip xD, but when i get a new one it will b this)

I plug it in (like the flip), transfer my files from SD card to my computer, open them in my video editor and edit away. So what are you talking about? You don't need anything for it. The Kodak camera is an excellent pocket HD camera.

very well said and all true you have to remember that the flipvideo family of products are a fad they will pass and when they do the true high quality products will rain free such as the KODAK product there really is no comparison besides the flip video products do not take still pictures and their low quality lens on their products are very poor in quality and the so called HD is only software based the lens can't capture in HD poor flip video R.I.P.

the Kodak is only 179,95 on the Kodak website ya i am using my other account... so anyways i was very disappointed with the Flip Camera so like i said in the video i'm gonna buy the Kodak Zi8 so look for future videos of that product in the future we will have t wait and see what happens lol...

ya man i was and i am very disappointed in the flip camera and the way that the person i spoke to handled me being the consumer and she did admit that the camera does not work well with the kind of laptop that i have i did read the system specs of what i needed according to the box my vista o.s. should work fine with the camera according to the box but it doesn't so i suggest the Kodak product the specs are so much better external mic input, it takes pictures, sd expanding slot, etc, etc...
