I Had a few questions: say if i was playing with the raag what would i play for the asthae. i have been just playing the double of the dekha but i want you try something a little more complex. And can you please make a video of how to tune a tabla. i have been trying but i am always off by a bit. Thanks in advance
@MOHANVIR I'm not an expert on raga structure, but I think the asthai is played during the Alaap. If so, then tabla is not used at that time. Tabla joins in at the Gat section which introduces the taal.
Regarding tuning a tabla, I'll try to create the video. Thanks for the suggestion. If your difficulty is with getting the same pitch all around, try using an electronic tuner. I have a nice one by Korg which tells me the pitch and whether it is sharp or flat.
@jiten2751 Garba is played "Dhin DhaTit Dha Dhin TaTit Ta." The one before that was a laggi "DhaGe DhinNa GeNa DhaGe TinNa KeNa." There are many different laggis, so this was just one example. They are played during a song to feature the tabla player's skill and add excitement to the performance.
hallo, i am graet fan of u sir. and i am also learning tabla by my guruji ( surjit das ). i would like to learn dadra taal above u play can give me de bols please?
@Zahedd3 Thanks for watching the video. But this is just a small introduction to the dadra taal concept. Since you are taking lessons already, I think your guruji will be much better at teaching you. Ask him to teach you laggis and thekas in dadra, for Garba dance and other styles. Good luck.
thanks for reaction sir. my guruji can't play afghani beats so that is why i asked u about the bols. i can use these what u play by many afghani songs. i am also waiting for your mugheli video sir.
@the147break Thanks for watching. Mughuli is a 7-beat afghani taal, I believe. I only know the Hindustani taals, but I will try to learn the afghani ones and create a tutorial one day.
