im sooo happy i found this video, im a first time mom & my daughter is 3 weeks old and does the same extact thing in her sleep & it freaked me out!!! i thought something was really wrong with her!! Well thank god its normal & theres nothing for me to worry about, even thou i read arcticals a million times saying the same thing i still felt like hje movements where different untill i saw this video & there the same!! Thanks =)
second, I don't think this is REM sleep at all. During REM sleep there is a marked loss in muscle tone-- ie. your body's muscles go limp
Throughout the video you see the baby's fingers moving, the baby smiling and a whole bunch of movement that doesn't occur without some sort of muscle tone
Definitely not fake, my daughter has been doing that since she was born. And actually she is doing it right now and I got scared so I googled Rapid Eye Movement while sleeping and I came across this and other helpful info.
suffer from what? Rem sleep is the natural rapid eye movement that reccurs during sleep, it is when you dream that it happens. its the same thing as Paradoxical sleep.
my son is 7 weeks and he does that also, i was a bit worried that he might of been having a seizure as his eyes go right to the back of his head and to the sides. looks quite scary but im glad that this is the norm
That's not REM
