Barnett rules, both in 'shoot fights' and pro wrestling. IMO he'd do fine in the WWE--he's a very sharp guy who understands pro wrestling psychology and could easily adapt to the style. I really don't see why he'd want to submit to the demanding WWE schedule when he's likely making more money now with IGF, Affliction and Sengoku.
I disagree. He would be much more appreciated in Japan than in the US especially now since his controversy. I still think he could beat Fedor with or without roids.
I reeeeally hate to say this, but THIS is the guy you'd want in the WWE if you were Vince McMahon to take back all the fans that went to UFC. He's legit in Pankration, a former UFC Heavyweight champ and King of Pancrase. Further, the guy's got the pro wrestling skills down from his time in New Japan and abroad. I've always been a fan of Barnett. And I wonder how he'll do against Fedor.
I doubt the major audience of WWE would approve of Barnett, since the majority of his matches are catch-as-can wrestling and ground and pound which would just bore them. This seemed to have been proven during Sylvester Terkay's short WWE stint. Barnett's doing fine in Affliction and IGF as far as I can tell.
True. Although, one could say the same about Shamrock's run. Although you could argue that it was because of the initial popularity and mystique of UFC to mass audiences that he became a favorite with them. But he did learn to adapt to their style of entertainment. I think Barnett could do the same. And he'd pull in the MMA heads(or at least some of them). Terkay was a big flop and I think was made just to capitalize on the MMA thing, but with no real charisma or skills past brawling? Big loss.
Lol, yeah. Fans probably would of gave Terkay another chance if he did his Bruiser Brody gimmick instead. That gimmick was tailor made for ECW in 2006.
Yeah although it seems like that honor goes to Mike Knox at this point. But who knows? That's the style of WWE. They let the writers decide how to run the whole thing. It's a shame. Besides, I'm sure most of their fans today wouldn't even get that whole gimmick. Brody was a legendary figure. But I'm sure they wouldn't give a rat's ass who they gave that "mantle" to.
