i find KGS to be accurate withen it (though if you stop for a while there can be strengh shifts). interesting starting with 10-10 though. i prefer q16, r4 then p3 as my opener when black or a simple nirensei if i'm white. My KGS main is mathwiz2 (also own goplayer7 user) and if you look at my rank graph you can see how there is a shift (was 6k, stoped with that user for a bit and now can't get past 9k :( )

neither one of the rankings is correct, and if you people are going by KGS ranking, it's wrong, KGS goes on a win lose ranking base. It's rarely right. I play with pros very often and I would say that both of these players are any where between 23kyu-18kyu. I'm sorry if that hurt anyone but its true, but for the skill levels it was a very good match.

A lot of people are saying they ALMOST beat someone a lot stronger than them. I did, but must I admit he was distracted during the early game.

I was probably about 18k-16k. He knew he was 12k So...flukes happen.

Hm, Well If your still playing Go, I can help you out somewhat, It'll just depend on what your rank would be, since I'm only like 2-3k KGS :\ SN is "Nick2008" , I'm also a very crappy go teacher, since No one played teaching games with me(well almost no one), So in turn, I didn't learn how to teach :p

that doesn't make sense, how could black have handicap if he's higher than you? and if it's 13k vs 9k it should be 4 handicap not 3, i think you got the ranks wrong x_x and yeah black isn't that strong actually =/ he just got lucky. That top black group could have died and also he missed a lot of weak points and aji. i'm 1 kyu so yeah =P

I'm starting to miss this game. I used to be about 10 kyu @ KGS when I played the most. Then I got stuck spectating high-dan games and it lost it's charm.

lol, i'm 20kyu on KGS. i played this 1 kyu player and I almost beat him so bADLY! I WAS SO CLOSE. We reviewed the game and he told somehting about if i did that move he would've resigned, i was so pissed. SO i think i'm pretty good for a 20kyu.

its to surround as many intersections within your color, killing the opponent's stones is only part of the game. Territory is the real objective.

i am a 15k and i think of this as a fun game cause i am all about speed in go i play well when i play fast when i play slow i would probobaly lose all of my games
