@Cynica015 The reality is that firms have a hard on for exclusivity. For example, UC Berk's undergrad population is a whopping 25,885 undergraduates, where Stanford is 8,000, Harvard has 6 thousand, and Columbia has 5 thousand Undergrads. If you have ever taken Economics, firms value a little thing we call SCARCITY, where the least abundant will always drive DEMAND up, always. This is why most jobs in upper management, consulting, and investment banking is reserved for the Ivy League.

@Cynica015 I was being "sarcastic".... I am completely aware of Berkeley and its status as the most prestigious state school for the lower class. I know a few people that graduated, and have yet to acquire a meaningful career.

@Cynica015 Additionally, since Berkeley is a State School, when the Economy goes sour,state school funding goes first. And because of Proposition 209, not only is there no racial diversity at Berk, but there is also a bias for California natives, which actually hinders a student[s] ability to explore, exchange ideas, and meet friends from outside of their culture. In the end, you are just left with a bunch of asians and Californians that all think alike and have nothing interesting to offer.

HAHA...my mother had the same reaction when she learned of my acceptances. I actually visisted UC Berkeley two weeks ago..Great experience but not where I see myself for fours years. And the UC admissions are very complex .

@zeldadu i took 5 ap courses over 2 years. 1 my junior year and 4 my senior year. i took APUSH junior year, senior year i took AP Lit&Comp, AP Calc AB, AP Psychology, and AP studio art.

i had two extracurriculars: a leadership position in a student run group that promotes awareness of racial prejudices and a leadership position in my church youth group.
