@yas17051984 Yes its a vicious cycle in SL. Like in any country there are no easy answers or solutions. I agree, the people at the top need to change for the better of the country. Also the people at the bottom need to stick up for themselves. Yes ALL SL people need to unite and stop fighting with each other. The civil unrest needs to stop if SL is to be seen as a peace loving nation. Many ex-pats hope for the best for SL, but it all depends on the people of SL to make SL better.

That's enough... no more! the government is going ahead with as many infrastructure developments in the North as possible because nothing has been done there for the past 30 years... people need to have an income if they are to build their lives back... Gov is giving incentives to companies to invest in the north... it's a long road but we'll get there :) Please god no more division

I hope SL will be able to keep the peace and have a final end to the fighting. Many people have left SL because of the fighting and have gone on to live in peaceful countries. Now is the time for SL to better its self, now that the fighting is over. I have relatives in SL and i am hoping for the best for them and SL. SL is a diamond in the rough.

@pissopatricio That does not make sense as change is inevitable. Every Asian country had indigenous names for the streets and locality before the europeans made their presence. In my opinion, the changing of names is an indication that the Europeans are no longer the rulers and the natives of Asia determine their destiny. If the people so wish to change their street names, then it is their choice!

As the Europeans were in Sri Lanka for 450 years there is nothing wrong in SL culture reflecting that whether in music , cusine , language, names etc. It is part of our long history.

That is why I am against the renaming of streets in Colombo which has been going on for thirty odd years.

The european period contributed to what Sri lankans are today and we should not try to erase it.

yes but they sing sweet love songs, they dont compose long instrumental music of intellectual value. Mestro Khemadasa is a good one I would say. But this song just makes Sinhalese look like European Lovers. Wel Europe is a grat place, but we dont quite admire Europeans for anything great, but just pretty girls and their clothes.
