People of YouTube! Please don't be sad! I have sent a tweet to Mr. Drew Carey stating that: "Thinking about bringing back the retired pricing game "Penny Ante" that ended 10 years ago? I hear that many people want it back." So hopefully, Drew will answer back with a solid YES or disappointing NO. So let's cross our fingers!
What an untimely end to this classic game. If it'd only lasted long enough for Drew Carey to have done it a few times... I'm sure he'd have found a way to have fun with that weird sound effect.
I missed "Penny Ante". :( I remember the sound effect was used in "The Joker's Wild" in a bonus round where you can win money and Jokers to avoid the devil.
RIP Penny Ante. That was a fun game. How sad that its own life was deteriorating. If they could ever bring it back with a new design, that would be terrific.
Penny Ante's board was mistakenly left out in the rain and damaged beyond repair. The staff initially planned on designing a new one but the plans didn't get through.
Weird rules on the first five playings as well. Red board, real pennies, prices scattered across board, not half and half, get over 100 pennies in "NO"s and you lose.
I think you meant "Superball" because there is no skee ball game on "The Price is Right". I guess Superball is also a retired price is right game as well.
I miss this game, too. The staff chose to retire it in the 31st season because of mechanical troubles. It was placed outside by the garbage. They later changed their minds, but the board had been damaged beyond repair in a rainstorm by then.
Recently ousted producer Roger Dobkowitz PROMISED fans that the game would return, but the process of re-designing the game board never took off, and the game was canned for good in the spring of last year. Proof positive that talk is cheap.

:(
Had there not been a rainstorm when they decided to unretire it in Season 31, this game would've still been in the rotation today.

Fine way for this classic game to retire. I still miss it even today...

With a result like that, you wouldn't believe that the game would never be seen again...and end up retired five years later.
