@Wavedude21101 this was used to test the audio and the video of your tv, if it wasnt perfect there couldve been something wrong. it was also used when there was a technical error with the station say a camera fell during a live news feed, they would put this on as almost an intermission.
@CraylaveProductions don't forget why they had the indian head on there, it gave the technicians a gray-scale picture and the feathers provided lots of linear features while the test pattern was still in view.

AH EAR RAPE! Seriously, a few nights ago I was asleep, rolled over onto my remote, and my xbox controller. Anyways this pops on, I sit up and just yelled, "WHO THE FUCK TURNED THIS ON!?" It woke my mom up, I had a lot of explaining to do in the morning. Oh well, what can you do?
The early settlers from here in Great Britain and elsewhere, stole their lands, but at least the American Red Indians have been imortalised on your test cards and cartoons such as Family Guy. When these were on air (I presume they're not now), was there ever music accompanying them as there usually was here in GB?
what did this do exactly?

@TheCaleyman No music, just the tone (so you would wake up, get off the couch, and go to bed).

It's a movie about Indians, but it's really boring, man!
