@SlipknotHeadless Yes it will but not as clear because your vocal cords will obstruct the sound clarity but as for the sound it will sound the same just not as loud. :~)
My father has started using the tru tone today, however, he sounds nothing like Tommy. The instrument's noise seems to be louder than the voice my father is able to generate with the tru tone. What can we do?
Wow, this device sounds so much more natural than all the other electrolarynxes I've heard.
Thank you so much for sharing. It truly gives a warmth to your voice, which makes listening to this type of speech a world away from the more monotone.
@nickwillsk8formoney Nick, you do have a choice of what you would like to use, you can sound robotic with a monotone device if that is your preference, but being rude and calling someone a retard is in no way the proper way of getting you're point across, I choose to us a device that let me have human emotion and sound, I made this video to let people know they have a chance to have fluctuation in pitch to bring back the human emotions again. Nick have a wonderful day.
@DJTylerProductions You may not have pity but not all Layngectomee's, have lost there voice due to smoking, I Tony Talmich the man in this video never smoked, I lost my voice because of second hand smoke due to being in smoky involvements and working in them majority of my life. Granted" lots of these people are ex smokers, but now need help and I will try and help as many as I can. Thanks for taking the time to view my video.
@Tonytdrummer I pity you but not people that smoke, even knowing what could happen, and expect people to feel bad when they screw things up. Thats what I meant.
how long has tony been using the true tone artificial larynx ? and who thought of this wonderful speech aid ?! and how can i contact tony ? let me know :)
I like my natural larynx so I think I just wont smoke. But nice to see technology progressing. Maybe we might reach a point where idiots dont smoke too.
I'm sorry, but my curiosity is getting the better of me here. Does Tony actually have a speech impairment, or is he only demonstrating the TruTone and SolaTone?
Any person can use an electrolarynx; it is a totally external device. However, if you can say "aaah", then you have no reason to use an electrolarynx.
@GriffinLaboratories hey its like i can speak and everything. so this may be kinda weird, but ive always wanted to use one of these in my music, can they work like that?
first of all it is a artificial speech aid!!!! second of all the reason why he sounds is because he had throat cancer thanks to smoking so he needed a speech aid to help him speak! how dare you talk about him that way!!!!!!
An Electrolarynx is for someone whose vocal chords cannot make sound, such as a laryngectomee. If you can say "aaaah" then you will probably not benefit from an electrolarynx.
The device is totally external though. It presses against the throat and transfers sound through the neck tissue and out the mouth.
@lovinnia Yes it is, it allows you to talk with a normal range depending on how you tune it, you can tune it from Low to High or from low to mid and for females mid to high. I have mine at full range so I can speak with the range I had when I had my normal voice., it does take some practice but not too much. it has given me a human like voice, now I don't have to sound like R2-D2 it is great not sounding robotic.
i think the best part of that speech aid! is that it makes your voice sound so natural! i know a lady who speaks with a Servox artificial speech aid and i am letting this womans mom know to check out the videos! don't you think that this speech aid will make her sound more natural?!:)
Of course, you have to modulate it manually with a thumb switch... I'll be amazed when they come out with one that actually responds to the movements of your throat that would normally modulate the pitch.
all i can say is wow!!!!!!!!! it's amazing! the Trutone artificial larynx is the best artificial speech aid in the whole world! and it doesn't make you sound like a robot like others do! i am verry happy to know that there is an artificial speech aid that can make you sound as normal as possible! way to go griffin labs:)
Thank God I gave up smoking long time ago, because I don't want to end up speaking like an Android, with that "creeping people out device".

@nickwillsk8formoney So you'd pick the monotonous robotic voice with no chance of expressing emotion. You're an idiot.
