  • Does the rod need to be threaded?

  • Great design! But...

Hmmm... You're doing something right but some you don't... You need a better camera plate so you can properly align the camera for dynamic balance. Also, when shooting, you should hold the shaft below the gimbal (gentle touch) - some channels may help you adjusts the weights faster. Then you need to actually work with it ("dance") - it's a training process to get those really smooth shots. Just my two cents.

  • Nice design, haven't seen that variation before. A little tip: If you rotate the counter-weights at the base to face outward rather than point towards the center it would increase the force needed to pan, reducing panning jiggle. TJust make sure to watch your feet! Keep up the good work!

  • could u make a step by step tutorial on how u made it?

    PLEASE :P

  • How large of camera do you use? how big of camera can the wiggle stick hold?

  • @WugeSternKleinge It holds my little personal camera, only 1-2 lbs, and it would also hold my work's Canon 60D (weight unknown, but definitely heavier than 1-2 lbs). Though the question that would then arise would be, "How long could your arm hold the entire unit until it gave out?" For my lil' arms, probably 6 minutes. :)

  • Neither the video or picture show what holds the parts together above the 4 way section part of the wiggle stick. like from from the tripod head down to the 4 way connector.....i want to build this but I need to know what rod or size bolts

  • GREAT! the video smoothness turned out awesome!

  • it do wiggle. LOLz

  • what is the flat piece on top of the weights called?

  • @B3kWag8ekx1 metal plate with holes :D

  • what if u wanted to shoot CLOSE TO THE GROUND ???????? THEN WHAT ??

If you had an establishing shot that was a "run up" following feet ??? can your Wiggle Stick get wealy close to the ground ???

  • @HoeCuzz Yes! You basically just put the weight on the upper side and mount the tripod mount on the bottom... then you'll have to turn your video 180 degress if you don't want to make a special hardware piece that gets the camera right in the first place...

  • what if u wanted to shoot CLOSE TO THE GROUND ???????? THEN WHAT ??

  • Is there a way to make the proportions of your wiggle stick smaller for GoPro cam? I've seen a lot of DIY steadicams's but they are way too large for the regular guy.

  • Best looking of the DIY steadicam designs I've seen. Great job!

  • Wow, this is a really good design, good job!

  • really well done. could you maybe draw up some instructions for your wiggly-stick?

  • very nice.

  • Cool design!

    Keep thinking!
